I would lie if I said Donald Anderson isn't a perfect cast here.

David Hayter for the win. MGS will rule, all we need is the right director( and David can take care of that) and the right actor. Preferably Viggo :P
lol...any ideas on who you would like to see direct this doohickey?

Ridley Scott ( I can dream).
Brian Singer ( Because he'd keep David VERY close).
Zach Snyder ( He never changes anything in the adaptation process)

Peter Jackson would be great too. Or JJ Abrams

Zack Snyder's the best adaptor around but he's got a lot on his plate at the minute.

Yeah I was expecting that too. He's amazing though. I hope David can just try and take him onboard either him or Brian Singer ( since he's worked with both).

i haven't seen Valkyrie, but i honestly don't think Bryan Singer is manly enough to handle a movie like Metal Gear.

Yeah, now that you mention it. Valkyrie was not that good. Oh my, what wouldn't give to see this taken in by QT. hehe.

JJ Abrams, Peter Jackson, what you think about them?

i'd love to see ANYTHING directed by PJ, but i don't think Metal Gear is his kind of movie. JJ Abrams on the other hand........i thought M:I3 was the best of the Mission: Impossible series and Star Trek is looking damn good! not to mention he's a GREAT writer.....so i'd definitely give him the thumbs up if he wanted to helm a Metal Gear movie.

I loved Valkyarie.

The thing is though. It looks like all of the JJ Abrams movies are all, Paramount made. Just like Zach Snyder is Warner Bros backed. I don't know anything about hollywood, but does this mean that the Directors are nailed to certain Studios?

i don't think so. i think it's just their preference. they have good relationships with those studios so they probably don't want to venture from their comfort zone.

Ah, great. Anyway, this is a very happy day for me. :p
I also can't wait to see Dough Jones perfectly portray Psychomantis. SNAAAKEEE, YOU CAN'T DEFEAT MEEEE

AgentRed, who's that guy you have for Otacon? Sorry, but I don't think he's really Otacon material.

Anyway, I was thinking lately and thought maybe Michael Trucco (Sam Anders in Battlestar Galactica) could be a good alternative choice for Solid Snake.

I think this guy would be an awesome Otacon :

"This guy": Cillian Murphy.

A Metal Gear film could be cool, but i'm telling you it's impossible to adapt the epicness of the video games unto the screen.

The story would have to be made for the film.

I know what you mean. MGS games had special moments that broke the barrier. I'm just hoping David finds away to pull in the audience, just like the games did at certain points ( like the Psychomantis level).
Remember, Watchmen was the only comic that was deemed impossible, it turned out well. This might be a turn for videogames aswell.

And all the codec calls would be near impossible to translate.

Having said that though, there are some moments in the MGS games that I would love to see on screen. (They pretty much all involve Liquid Snake).

The Codec calls don't need to be there as frequent as in the game. Ocassional appearances of the codecs at vital points in the movie would be cool. Also, that radar should be put to use. Imagine the first 10 minutes, as snake gets through the first stage of the level up until the elavator, you get to see exactly, where he is and where the enemies are ( and also, the sight field turning orange, when they notice something) on the radar displayed on the right corner of the screen.

wow, that wasn't bad actually. Who knew I had quite the director in me : P

I've always felt David Fincher would be a great guy for the job, but then again, the idea of JJ Abrams feels more suitable.

JJ Abrams was the first director I actually thought would realistically speaking be able to do it. I was just too scared off by that frequent Paramount logo on all his movies.

He's got the look.

But I have no idea about his acting ability.

What about Christian Bale for Solid Snake? I've been playing MGS4 for the past week and the voice of Snake sounds like Bale when he's Batman. He kinda has the look as well. What does everyone think?
