I find it funny that most people on this forum loved the trailer and feel the film will be great (even if it doesn't have the squid =/), yet the majority of people on another forum I frequent (about 15-16,000 users) who are fans and have seen the trailers feel that the film keeps looking worse and worse with each new image/video. That and they feel that Snyder and Co "just don't get" Watchmen and will butcher it.

Interesting how two forums can be so opposite of one another.

Yeah, no kidding. That's the type of person that, if a movie comes out and gets rave reviews, they'll say it's evidence of how badly it sold out.

It comes to be expected...everyone knew there would be people that are such comic purists, that no matter how great the movie looks, they will find bad things about it. These are the same people that don't want Watchmen to be "Mainstream" they think that you should have to be in some secret club to be a Watchmen fan.

I love how you say the majority. So your saying that close to 15-16,000(thousand!) fans are saying this film looks like crap?

I also would like to know which website, not to give them **** because hey, there entitled to their opinions but I for some reason don't believe you.

Yay:
- The Phillip Glass piece he used just fit perfectly with the oppressive 80's zeitgeist.
- Crudup's Manhattan is spot-on.
- The aging effects look great.
- I love that Dreiberg's dream made it in.

Nay:
- Silk Spectre's performance is a bit lacking.
- Some of Snyder's speed up/slow down shots occasionally seemed out of place.
- Rorschach kept referring to Wacthmen as if it was a super-group, when it simply never was anywhere in the story. I'm just hoping that was a line written for the trailer to give the audience some reason for the movie to be called "Watchmen".

Overall, I got chills.

Well that only means one reason why that is: dumb morons have never read the book. Music isn't as good like the first two (however it is very 80's and to that extent it's very true to era and book), but boy did I cream my pants looking at this trailer; it's simply amazing. Everything; Rorschach and Manhattan were by far the greatest characters in the whole thing. Voices and looks are not one sign off of perfect; that and the Comedian breakin scene was great too. Fans of the Watchmen board, we are the true fans here; don't let the other guys tell you otherwise. They're not on this forum and bashing on it now, are they? All n' all simply amazing; this movie has offfically taken over 2009. End of story. t: :heart:

It's not. The trailer first uses Phillip Glass, then a song by Muse.

I really enjoyed this, and I'm glad after waiting all day for this, I was very satisfied, unlike the scream footage which was somewhat disappointing. I love the music choice, Rorschach sounds exactly as I pictured he would, Manhattan sounds fine, not EXACTLY as I was expecting, but somewhat similar.

To be fair all we really saw of Laurie was about twelve words plus her walking down some stairs.

As for the "The Watchmen" thing, yeah what can you do. We've known for awhile that that's how it was going to be in the movie. It makes more sense for those who aren't versed in obscure Latin proverbs. It's a dumbing down, yes, but minor one that will prevent a lot of head-scratching I think.

I believe it was just to make the general audience more aware of them compared to actually calling themselves the Watchmen. I heard they're still the Crimebusters

Everything was excellent, except the music. It felt out of place to me, and it wouldve been better if they used the music from the previous trailers. Nontheless Rorschach is nailed to perfection and although I pictured Manhatten sounding like the Martian Manhunter from JLA, his voice here is fine.

March needs to hurry up and get its ass over here!!
