this trailer didnt get me as excited as i expected or wanted. rorshach's voice is very distinct and intense, and there was just SO much of it in the trailer, that it almost became grating. manhattans voice was a little underwhelming. the music was awkward. i didnt like them being called the watchmen. some of the dialogue sounded forced.

but lots of stuff looked really pretty.

Our theatre didn't play the new Watchmen trailer with QoS :(

Maybe because it was the midnight show..

it depends if you got to AMC/REGAL. Otherwise, independently own chains are iffy on trailers (Like Century)

There was only 1 theatre in our Cineplex that had QoS

I'm afraid it's the cinema, then :o

With the bigger chains (mentioned above), it depends on how many theaters in the cinema are playing the particular movie. When there are multiple screens, chances are that one or two of them will not have the trailer you're looking for (happened to me with the TDK trailers on multiple occasions :o).

I got my trailer with QoS... I'm sorry to hear that for you.
I'm actually even more excited for this movie now. I will admit that Manhattan's voice was a bit... underwhelming and hearing them called the Watchmen was a bit weird, it is hard NOT to be able to pick out scenes from the trailer and place them directly next to panels from the comic and see how they perfectly match up. I Sat on the edge of seat the whole time, especially since i didn't know they were attaching a new trailer to QoS. I honestly can't wait.

That was a great trailer and it made me lok forward to seeing the film even if what I read tempers my enthusiasm.

Love the first 30 seconds of the trailer, with the Shining-esque shot of the door, the old Comedian and the Rear Window-esque shadows of the feet under the door.

Also great to see how many special effect shots are improved (the Owl Ship emerging and the Osterman accident for instance)

Manhattan looks perfect.

I loved everything till I saw the explosion. Bad taste in the mouth there. The Doc looks kind of weird. Not lean enough. To bulky in the upper body and his voice is terrible.

I don't like how they called themselves the watchmen and made reference that they were once a group

But other than that it looks great. Rorschach seems perfect so far.

Manhattan sounds like Adam Sandler when he says "leave me alone". lolz.

Patrick Wilson as Dan Deidberg = perfection

But watching the explosion in NY made me want the squid ending even more. It fits in perfectly with the strangeness that is Watchmen. It also makes the conspiracy much more artful and intricate which is essential to the overall theme.

The trailer was pretty to look at, but all the other Watchmen fanboys have convinced me that this one's gonna suck.

Manhattan in my mind would sound more godlike than he is now.But since i loved the new trailer that's only a minor gripe.:up:

Grrr the trailer wasn't with my midnight showing of QoS (at least we got Star Trek *shrug*) Oh well, I'm seeing it again next week so hopefully I can get it on the big screen too.

good trailer explained more for the audience that was not heard of watchmen

Good trailer but i must admit I liked the teaser more,it had more of a dark feel to it.

Being called The Watchmen is weird, music was also kinda odd

Hmmmm...hopefully the dialouge of them calling themselves The Watchmen was just recorded for the actual trailer, with different dialouge for the film itself. It kinda makes sense, what with the general audience seeing the posters, the trailer, and just presuming all these guys they keep seeing are The Watchmen - let them think it.

Manhatten sounded exactly like i thought he'd sound - Billy Cudrup. I never once imagined him having a god like voice when reading the book, i actually imagined it being even softer.

Dan just looks and sounds so, so good, so looking foward to the fight in the alley with the Top Knots, just to see this geek kick some ****in ass.

The explosion, though...why on earth they bottled it with the squid, i dont know. Studio interference? Too much back story (The island) that would bog the film down? For me, that was the greatest part of the book...the strangness about it, it fits in with Ozzys plan so much better than framing the Doc for it...i dunno, i guess we'll have to wait and see.

Good trailer, AWESOME music throughout, too.

I don't really care if it's not completely ''faithful'' to the book, I actually quite like to see the Watchmen characters do something different, you know, and have different lines, costumes and so forth. But think it expands the ''Watchmen Universe'' in a way... On the other hand it is very cool to see scenes from the book ''come to life'', a mixture of old and new is exactly what I look for in a comic book adaptation. The Dark Knight does that brilliantly. Just look at the Sin City movie, it's an ''translation to the screen'' and I'd rather read the comics than watch that flick, it's just exactly the same and doesn't hold any surprises. It's kinda boring actually, and not really creative.

No one goes to see a Watchmen adaptation for surprises. You go because you want to see the the graphic novel come to life or because you want to see what the big deal is about the source material.

Agreed on all points.

I guess I just don't get why the squid is so difficult to translate. I mean you drop little references here and there about missing people and then Ozy explain the rest during the end scene as in the book.

At any rate the movie looks incredible so far.
