Green Lantern is a superhero movie not a monster flick. If they want to do that, they should have budgeted it lower.

I dont know what you mean by a monster flick exactly, you are a DC FAN, and the joker looks very ugly in the Dark Knight, and he stills the show, everyone agrees on that, not just me!! Besides, If they go with that big cheesy head from the comics, the movie is going to suck big time.

What are you talking about? The Joker looks like a clown.

From HELL! :hehe:

Hey, let's not get it twisted. This is a clown from hell:

Violator
(from Spawn)

... and the Joker definitely doesn't look like that.

I looking forward for a movie with a universe background like the Event Horizon movie starring Lawrence Fishburne, but not as graphic of course. A dark universe, where legion can fit perfectly and can scared all audiences, and Hector Hammond can look he has an infection from outer space.
Otherwise you are going to get star treck with rings, PLEASE SOMEBODY WAKE ME UP FROM THIS NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like this should be more like Star Trek (or even Star Wars) with rings. From the looks of the popularity of this forum, we are going to need those fans to help pay for the movie.

What's a good comic to read with legion in it?

I've only read green lantern since geoff johns has been working on it.

oh man that movie event horizon was one crazy film.

Green lantern should be a mix between this movie and matrix (When Greg Berlanty was originally selling the project he said so him self, its going to be a Matrix like movie), I am just cuoting warner executives when they said that all dc characters would be darker. I dont want to see STAR TRECK WITH RINGS, and I think some people share my opinion.

No, it really shouldn't. Green Lantern is supposed to be a Space Opera/Superhero Movie. An Iron Man mixed with Star Trek and with a good deal of Star Wars and Transformers throwed in.

Wow, I was about to say the same. It should be a mix between Iron Man and Star Trek, with some Star Wars thrown in.

And this forum's lack of visitors is the result of lack of news. Once we hear more, more people will come. This place was on fire when Reynolds was cast.

Not to mention forum users don't make up even 5% of the movie going audience. It's a beyond stupid way to judge. The general movie going audience has no idea of this movie being made. They will become aware when a teaser and trailer nexist. Elektra was a very popular forum during it's production and release. We all remeber how well that did at the BO, right?

I just don't see Iron Man in Green Lantern. Iron Man is more of a billionaire (like Bill Gates) turned hero via a mechanical suit. Green Lantern is more of a blue collar joe who was chosen to be a hero and is given his power through a ring. This is more along the line of a Star Wars/Lord of the Rings tale than Iron Man. Even Star Trek has it's parallels since the stories are based in space, there is the opportunity to meet other races, and there is science fiction action. Why are we trying to say that this is Iron Man (outside of the fact that it could have just as much action or more)?

Green Lantern is a superhero movie above all and Iron Man's tone is pretty much the perfect tone for Green Lantern: It has action, it has adventure, it has comedy, it has romance, it has drama, it has horror and it has suspense, all perfectly balanced by a talented cast and a rounded story, with solid direction, good special efects and a neat pacing. Besisdes, Hal Jordan and Tony Stark and their relationships with their fellow love interests are very much alike.

Add to that Star Trek's overall epic feel, alien interaction, character development and good balancing of a big cast; Star Wars's gravistas and overall feel and Transformers's competence, action scenes, eletrifying pacing and good humor.

I think we're talking about tone and not what's on the surface (IE literally).

People say that Green Lantern is DC's Iron Man FILM-WISE in terms of the potential success and the possible floodgates that might be bustin' through.
Otherwise, I think Iron Man is closer to Batman conceptually when he was first created. (This is comic books; it happens)

You could say the same for a "James Bond" film or even "Die Hard" and even "Terminator". That's not really saying much when you put it in that context. The thing is that in comparison, Green Lantern is closer to Star Wars or Star Trek, than it is to Iron Man.

In the Space Opera angle, maybe. But, in the Superhero Movie heavily present in the Script, Green Lantern is closer in tone to Iron Man than any others.

yea i hope thing turn out great for gl and for dc and hopefully it will if it does solid in the bo show wb that characters like gl has a market for films.

Honestly, after reading the draft recently, it's a mix of JJ Abrams' Star Trek and Iron Man, tonally. Kinda pop, but overall, fun with colorful characters.
