I didnt know what the heck Echochrome was before as those pics I saw before didnt really help but I finally get it. The demo was good and I like it. The only issue I had was with the controls as I felt it was a bit slow

Firmware 2.17 Now Available For PS3

If you’ve signed in to the PLAYSTATION Network tonight on your PS3, you probably noticed that you were prompted to upgrade the system’s firmware to v2.17. In case you were wondering what it’s all about (and a quick Google search indicates that yes, you are) the operating stability of some online PS3 titles has been improved.

to be honest I think my ps3 purchase is going to get put off even further. The 360 just got a price drop in europe again. I can now get a premium 360 with HDMI and a free game for £199.

That's £100 less than the 40gig ps3

Yup, I sadly must agree. In concept, it should have been awesome. But it has stiff, clunky animation, slow, uninspired gameplay, boring music and sound, dull cutscenes, and the list goes on and on. If the game ran at a buttery smooth 60 FPS, had wicked smooth cartoon-like animation, and had lightning fast gameplay, it could have been awesome. As it is though, I'm afraid I'll be deleting it very soon.

As such, PS3 owners should expect downloadable video content, ringtones, interactive movie-based games, and the always intriguing "more" when the software is released in "late March." In other words, in the next 11 days. The update will also allow you to copy photos and music playlists over USB from your PS3 to your PSP. The rest of the new features after the break.

-- "Resume play" will enable PS3 system to start playing a Blu-ray disc
and DVD at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been
removed.(*1)
-- "Audio Output Device" will be a new Remote Play setting, enabling PSP
to serve as a remote control for music played through PS3.
-- PS3 system's Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files directly
linked from a Web page will be able to be streamed, and the browser's
view speed will be improved.
-- DivX and WMV format videos that are larger than 2GB will be playable.
