Putting PS1 and PS2 games on PSN is as big a waste as Xbox Originals. Nintendo needed the Virtual Console because the Wii can't play NES, SNES, and N64 cartridges. The extra systems are just a bonus. Plus Nintendo relies on the nostalgia more than any other company.

IDA, bc the PS1 games on the PSN store serve more purpose than simply being able to play on the PS3. They are also used to play on the PSP and you cant pop in a PS1 disc into that system. Putting them up on the PSN store for download is one of the only 2 (legal) ways for that to happen. Thanks to remote play, you can then use any of those PS1 games stored on your PS3 on your PSP, away from home. The other way is to have a PS1 game in the PS3 and remote paly it but then you are only limited to only that 1 game in the console.

Another reason why IDA with you bc many PS2 games are hard to find and most PS1 games are bc they are old and out of production. Before the MGS collection set was released, it was a bit hard to find a PS1 copy of MGS1. There are rare games that go for crazy prices on ebay, and many times thats the only option. Putting games up on the PSN, alleviates the problem of searching and hunting for titles that are no longer being made. Not going to happen bc of behind the scene liscensing issues, but people would love for MvC2 to go up on the PSN bc you cant find reasonably priced copy out there bc only a few were made. Thats just one example of why downloadable versions of old games would be useful

But Sony doesn't need a Virtual Console service because most PS3s (20, 40, and 80 GB models) are backwards compatible with PS2 games and all PS3s are backwards compatible with PS1 games. If a person wants those games they can find them easily in a store or on eBay.

and hence my point. Games on the PSN retail cheaper for that. Putting them on the PSN would drive the prices of the actual copies down as well. Ive only been able to find MvC2 on Ebay; never in a store

I dl'd and tried the Monster Madness demo, not bad for a free demo coop. It reminds me of Zombies ate my neighbors, but of course not near as good (love me some Zombies ate my neighbors ). 4 player coop is always nice tho, something games don't incorporate enough IMO. Tho I could see this game getting repetative quick, if they sell it for $10 on the PS Store or something I might get it.

I don't even bother with getting through most demos these days, Bad Company was the last one I made a geniune effort to get all the way through.

Back around launch, you'd cling on to the precious few demos of games you didn't even like, then it got to the point where around Christmas I'd keep the best and play em like crazy (Uncharted, I went through that demo an insane amount of times). Nowadays, I don't even bother with all of them.

finally played the American demo and this game has potential. It reminded me of Silent Hill. The controls were very well done as was the graphics and presentation. This just might be one title, I'll keep an eye out on

Sony just announced the ability to download and watch television shows and movies via the PlayStation store. Hit the jump for details.

Jack announced partnerships with big name studios like Sony Pictures, Fox Film & Televisions, Lionsgate, MGM, Disney, Paramount, and a few more.

Television shows will cost $1.99 per episode. Movie rentals will range from $2.99 to $5.99 and purchases will range from $9.99 to $14.99.

The service will be fully integrated into PSN, meaning you can use your normal account to access everything. The media will also be portable, allowing you to transfer content to your PSP.
