Today's PSN update will feature the Metal Gear Online "Gene Expansion." It will come in two varieties, starting at $11.99. The basic expansion will add Meryl and Akiba as playable characters, and three new maps:

* Coppertown Conflict -- Wide streets, underground passages, and rooftop areas that are ideal for close to medium range combat.
* Tomb of Tubes -- An intricate labyrinth of underground passages that are ideal for close to medium range combat.
* Virtuos Vista -- An outdoor map with natural terrain that is ideal for medium to long range combat.

In addition, there will be a new "Survival Mode" and you will be able to create a custom female character. For $14.99, players will also get an additional character slot.

If paying money doesn't suit your tastes, Konami is still adding free DLC to the Metal Gear Online experience today. Metal Gear Online will also be updated with MGOnline Reward Points and an in-game shop. By playing the game, filling out questionairres and winning tournaments, players will earn Reward Points which can be used to unlock new gear for your character. This will be available for all players of Metal Gear Online.

Hothead Games' web comic-inspired downloadable RPG Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One (PC, 360) will appear on PlayStation 3 this fall, the company announced today.

"All good things take time and we are very excited to be debuting our first PS3 title and look forward to bringing more games to this platform in the future," said Hothead CEO Vlad Ceraldi.

According to Hothead, the downloadable PlayStation Network release of Penny Arcade Adventures : Episode One will be priced "in line" with the other versions, which sold for $19.99 when they were released earlier this year.
 
Was looking at the Japanese store, wish they'd give us some of that PS1 lovin'. Saw Bio Hazard (Resident Evil) 1&2, and MGS on there store among other things. Navigating the Japanese PSN store without understanding Japanese is a ***** tho.

Edit - Also tried the Pixeljunk Eden demo, trippy little game. Psychodelic colors, plants growing out of thin air, somewhat addicting but kinda hard to control gameplay. I think I'd buy it if you could use Harddrive music and it was on the $4.99 list. Not really worth $10 to me tho.

I have Hong Kong, Japan, and UK accounts on top of my US account. I just check them all at the same time every so once and awhile, only takes seconds to switch accounts.

the trophies in eden are harder than the trophies in most other games and you only get bronze for most things because it's a psn game.
