Pfft. Why must the EU store continue to suck?

I actually went to the trouble of creating a second sign-in for my PS3 so I could get onto the US store, but I can't buy anything. Damn. Seeing how much we don't get just makes it worse.

Though I have been hearing rumours that the EU store might be scrapped/merged with the US at some point, but not any time soon.

Short and sweet update this week, but nothing to be sniffed at. Two demos and two add-on packs mean there's something for pretty much everyone. If you're into driving, hockey or Haze (yeah, we thought not), that is. Warhawk fans have probably already grabbed last week's booster pack, but those new to the game might be tempted by the low-price triple combo pack. Here's the full release list:

European PSN releases for September 18th

That's more like it. Have you noticed that we haven't been moaning about European PSN releases for a little while? That's because SCEE has clearly stepped up their game. Big releases are nigh-on simultaneous and demos and add-ons are rarely late, either. Being a European is pretty good this week, with three demos, two song packs for Rock Band and some decent videos and themes. Here's the full release list:

Having said that, the Rock Band DLC is lagging slightly, but we're going to give them the benefit of the doubt for a few weeks, until they get everything synced up properly. The most confusing thing about this update is the Rock Band Son Export Key. Why would Europe need that now, if Rock Band 2 is nowhere in sight? Unless EA is going to surprise the region with a sooner-than-expected (ie, within the next 6 months) release? Who knows. What it does mean is that the song export patch (which includes GHIII controller compatability) should be available soon. Right?

We had no idea it was coming to Europe, but Burnout Paradise is now available at the ridiculously affordable price of £25/€30. PlayStation Network Cards Expanded Availability
The pre-paid cards hit multiple retail outlets in November.
September 26, 2008 - Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is expanding the availability of the popular PlayStation Network Cards to additional major retailers nationwide this holiday season. The PlayStation Network Cards, which can be used to purchase content for PlayStation 3(PS3) and PSP (PlayStation Portable) systems, will be available at Walmart, Best Buy, select Sam's Club outlets in October 2008, and at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores locations in November 2008.

With the cards, PS3 and PSP fans can buy games, movies, TV shows, themes and add-on content from the PlayStation Store and other PlayStation Network services. The PlayStation Network Cards are available in $20.00 and $50.00 denominations and are currently offered at Blockbuster, Pamida, Meijer Superstores and Speedway store locations.

"The PlayStation Network Cards are an easy way for PSP and PS3 fans to obtain great games, movies, TV shows and other entertainment through PlayStation Network and we are pleased to offer them at major retailers nationwide," said Eric Lempel, director, PlayStation Network Operations, SCEA. "With the holiday season right around the corner, these cards are an ideal gift option for friends and family, whether they are movie aficionados, dedicated gamers or something in between."

European PSN Store update for October 2nd

Quite a long list of content today, particularly if you include all the Rock Band and FIFA 09 downloadable content. Two more Rock Band albums are released today, leaving Europe up to date with DLC. Until the American PSN update later today, that is. Geon comes to Europe, with trophies in tow, along with the PES 09 demo (we know a lot of you'll be happy about that) and the Bioshock demo.

Also, be sure to grab the PixelJunk Eden soundtrack. At this price, you'd be daft not to. Plus, it's DRM free, so you can listen to it on any device you like (we'll be using it as our WipEout HD soundtrack). Here's the full release list:
