The Official PSN Store Update Thread

Considering it's Square, Sony, and Capcom that have been doing the major releases lately I'd like to see -

Capcom - Megaman X (4 mainly, but any of them), Megaman Legends, Breath of Fire 3 & 4, Darkstalkers 3, and Dino Crisis 1 & 2.

Square - Xenogears, FFVIII, Brave Fencer Musashi, Bushido Blade, and Parasite Eve 2.

Sony - Legend of Dragoon, and Legend of Legaia.

Sony's already released most of their other PS1 games I care about like TM 2, Crash and so on. It's funny tho how the above 3 developers together have that many of the best PS1 titles. Now if only Square could get back to it's former glory rather than almost set the entire gen out developing a handful of games. Sony however is still a major gaming presence thanks to it's upping of first party games more recently, and Capcom gave us SFIV so that's more than enough to get praise from me lol.

Bushido Blade would be awesome. I used to play that all the time, but I lost the disc. Both of the Mega Man Legends games would be appreciated as well.

Yes to Bushido Blade! I remember playing that the first time and freaking out when I cut the Bamboo in half. It was refreshing to play a fighting game that had free roaming levels and had no time limit or health bar. I lost my copy a while ago as well. :(

I'd like them to put The Misadventures Of Tron Bonne on PSN. Just because I never got to play it and always wanted to

I bought it a while back on eBay. It's decent, but because it's basically just a collection of mini-games, it wasn't as enjoyable as the Legends games to me.

Some of the ebay prices are crazy expensive, otherwise I might go for it. I have both of the Legends games, just seems like a missing link, and I love me some Bonne. Though, I admit, a collection of mini-games, to me, is rarely fun

I do recall paying quite a bit for it. Like $30 or more. I was spending money on eBay like it was going out of style at the time, though, so I probably didn't notice.

Excuse me, I meant to say used. You can't get a used one for under $60. The one I posted is the only new one I've seen on eBay

It's a mad world:(

I must've missed that, still too much for me for a PS1 game. I understand it's rare and all that, but I couldn't justify spending that much on such an old game. I can barely justify playing much more than that for a new game

This doesn't pertain to the store, but I didn't think it warranted a new thread,
Joost Now on Your PS3 (Minus Big Content Partners)

Joost Labs launched a version of its web TV service for the PlayStation 3 today, making it accessible on your television set via the game console. Well, making some of Joost’s content accessible on your PS3 — just not anything from Viacom, Warner Bros. or CBS.

To launch Joost, PS3 owners select the Network icon on the PlayStation, open the Internet browser, press start and enter http://labs.joost.com/tv/ in the address field. The navigation has been optimized for the PS3 game controller.

This does not appear to be region locked so check it out when you get the chance.

Eh, seems like a waste of time. What good is a video streaming service without any videos from the major content providers? That's like porting Hulu without any of their Fox/FX or NBC/Universal programming. All you'd have left are s***ty comedy shorts that generally aren't even funny.

Canada is finally getting PSN cards.
Hi Everyone! Kyle Moffatt, Senior Public Relations Specialist for Sony Computer Entertainment Canada back to the blog with some great news for Canadian gamers. With the Stanley Cup finals ending last week the team at PlayStation Canada figured it would be a great time to bring the prepaid PSN cards to Canada! The cards, available in $20 and $50 denominations, can now be purchased at EB Games and GameStop locations across the country. In the coming weeks and months you’ll also be able to buy the cards at: Best Buy, Future Shop, HMV, The Source by Circuit City and Rogers Plus entertainment locations with more to come.

It’s great time to pick up a PSN card so buy one today and check out some of the great content available like Flower or The Last Guy (two of my favorites) or a PSone classic like Final Fantasy VII or Resident Evil: Director’s Cut. You can also get ready for a game I’m really looking forward to - Fat Princess. Now Canadians can have their cake and play with it too!

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/23/the-punisher-no-mercy-frags-psn-on-july-2-for-9-99/

Courtesy of the PlayStation Blog, we now know that Frank Castle's Unreal Engine-powered, arena-style FPS, The Punisher: No Mercy, will blast its way to PSN on July 2 for a cool $9.99. Aside from multiplayer gameplay that allows up to eight different vigilantes and famous Punisher faces to go at it, there'll be a single-player mode rife with unlockable content. Let's hope that doesn't include Thomas Jane skins.

Just though I'm post this because I hadn't heard anything about it and kind of thought this was out of nowhere, especially to be coming out next week. Not sure if was announced or not earlier or not

Yea I read about this in one of my game informer's several months ago, I also believe it's exclusive to ps3, not sure tho

The Punisher seems like an odd fit for an arena-style shooter, but I'll try it out.

Ok, I figured that surely there was some news before this, but I must have missed it. This was the first I heard of the game and it kind of caught me off guard when I saw it on Joystiq.

The article only mentioned a PSN version, so it probably is for now.

Yeah, it is kind of a weird concept. Hopefully there's a demo for it when it hits
