i've never been a hugh spy type stories fan

That's sad. Checkmate's basically everything I ever hoped and dreamed for in a comic. I'm an enormous Alan Scott fan, and I always thought it would be cool if Marvel made a SHIELD comic that focused on espionage and politics. That basically describes Checkmate to a tee, except that it's not SHIELD because it's at DC.

Yeah, I liked him in the Cable stuff (despite his stupid hair). Black Widow, Nick Fury, Cap, Dum-Dum Dugan, Jim Rhodes, Valerie Cooper, Ms. Marvel, and even international people like Sabbra could pop up from time to time. I'd really, really love to see a one-off story where Dum-Dum shows how badass he is.

You may want to drop f4 soon since apparently two members are leaving at the end of civil war. Other than that if I was forced I'd say ultimate spider-man. I like it but everything else on your marvel list is too good to drop right now.

Though I hate uf4 you mighyt wanna hang onto that due to the aforementioned split. Have you considered subscribing. If you do it from www.forbidden-planet.co.uk you get 25% off which would be like dropping 4-5 books every month in terms of savings (How do you think I afford my list!). Or you could just do it through marvel/dc(though I can't seem to find the link for uk subscriptions??? )

It's well worth it in the long run, and if you want specific issues a lot of website's do a fair discount on advance orders. FP's is 25% for them as well!

Yeah, my shop gives me a 15% discount on comics because I have a pull list.

I stopped going to my shop because they wouldn't even on hardcovers I was paying £20 that's like $35 american for tewlve issues of USM, no ****ing way!

Also to the guy looking to save cash, If you buy trade's regualrly switch to amazon, it'll save you a boatload of cash, they usually do up to 1/3 off.

I'll be picking up Nightwing come October (when Wolfman starts his run), and Star Wars: Dark Times. I'm also thinking about the new Martian Manhunter series.

I recommend dropping the All-Star books. All-Star Batman and Robin is crap and All-Star Superman, while not bad, isn't Morrison's best writing.

Personally though if you're going to drop that one i'd replace it with X-men. The art is fantastic and...Mystique and Sabretooth as X-men! This is gonna be a good arc
