I agree on transformers. That movie I hated and was a mess.

Better than Transformers and on par with Spider-Man...? Wow...
yeah, that's kinda ridiculous. i understand people have their own opinions, but when you look at it from a LOGICAL and TECHNICAL standpoint there is no way that DB:E is better than Transformers.

arrggghh it pisses me off that they have a third transformers scheduled and dragonball all i can hope for is a reboot in 5 years.

dragonball could be way more epic than transformers. :cmad:

Actually no.... Dragonball kinda runs out of gas after a while whereas Transformers has a large and detailed mythos from which they can extract many many stories...

I still say Wachowski Brothers for Dragonball reboot...
Keanu Reeves for Goku : WHOA! I KNOW KAMEHAMEHA!
Lawrence Fishburne for Piccolo
Carrie Ann Moss for Bulma

Also, the movie should have a green computer motif :hehe:

Actually kids will have a blast with this movie. Transformers had a lot of wasted money "Hiding from Sam's parents" and too many human characters.

Thank you. Someone actually got what I was saying... DBE for all its faults doesn't forget why people will want to see it, for action scenes and goofy characters. Transformers to me, while definitely delivering on robot action forgot that the movie was about transformers, not man against machines like in every other alien vs man movie.

In my opinion it is better than transformers. I don't know much about logic and tech since I put bags on a belt at jfk for my pocket change these days, but just from a layperson's view of stories and characters, I liked dbe's story, flow, and coherance etc, more because it's less fatty than transformers. OMG there's loads of bad acting, but I kind of found it in line with dragonball anyway.

Really watch anime and see how effortlessly it segways between brilliance and nonsense. I got a similar vibe from this crap.

Quality over quantity. Dragonball should be an epic trilogy on Star Wars level and it gets increasingly more epic as it goes. I can't say the same about Transformers.

DB's stories DO run out after a while, but they've got 3 great story arcs to be able to form a great trilogy around. Piccolo, Vegeta, and Freiza. all you need to do is hire decent writers to flesh out the characters, settings, and events. besides, DB actually has a solid foundation considering it's based off an old Chinese novel....while TF has a more flakey foundation considering it was originally made to sell toys.

BOTH series have the potential to reach Star Wars levels of popularity. the TF cartoons often delve into space travel and such, which has not been implemented very well in the live action movies. don't underestimate the TF franchise.

DB and TF can co-exist guys. maybe not the live action films...but the ideas and concepts behind both of those properties are on an epic level.

It is because of people like "THE KID" that really terrible films (not bad films though... mistakes happen) exist which are only made for a quick buck...

I mean why bother making something halfway decent when you can slap together an 80 minute crap-fest with no head, tail or a body....

DBE is in the same league as any Ed Wood or Aaron Seltzer/Jason Freidburg movie...
You have no one but to blame yourselves to blame for these kinds of film...
By paying to see them you are saying, "YES WE WANT ******** IN OUR FILMS!"

Ok i've just watched it, i was really excited when i first heard that they we're making a DB film, and after all these months of anticipation i can honestly say that,

If anyone in their right minds, even thinks about making a sequel to this pile of absoloute ****!, then they need shooting.

Listen to the reviews because they are pretty spot on.

Blink and you'll miss this film, keep your eyes open and you'll see something i could have made on windows movie maker. The story (if u can call it that) goes so fast and jumps from scene to scene, without any care for character development or transition.
It goes from high school to a volcano within' what feels like half an hour.Where are the fight scene's? this is dragonball ? where was piccolo? i thought James marsters was going to be the saviour of dragonball ? he must of got paid £100 for his part cos i think the school teacher had more screen time.

If your'e a DB fan then you'll hate it, if u know nothing about DB you'll come out of the theater scratching your head trying to figure out what that was all about - then you'll hate it.

A Sequel = No thanks, Go and watch an episode of the Manga instead.

Alan Moore: I TOLD YOU!!!! I TOLD YOU!!! HOLLYWOOD WILL KILL US ALL!!! NO ONE IS SAFE! THEY GOT ME AND NOW THEY HAVE YOU!!! THE END IS NIGH!

Akira Toriyama: Shut up!! As if I'm not depressed enough already...

They can get that from Power Rangers hell I urge them to rather than pay for this crap.

Ok so i just saw the movie and honestly i dont understand all the hate. i sorta pride myself in being a pretty decent movie critic, this movie is far from crap. If i was to rate the movie as a whole i would give it a solid 3/5 stars. I am and was a big time dragonball/dbz fan but i made sure when i watched the movie to watch it as if i hated or new nothing of the anime/manga. With that being said it wasnt 100 percent to the story nor was it 90 percent but the source material and characters are pretty well told. If any one has any questions please ask away.

Watching my dog take a **** this morning was more entertaining than this "film". I can only pray now that Maguire and co don't bastardize Robotech as much as this was.

Added a poll to this thread.

I refuse to believe that you are not on crack...I highly refuse to believe that with all my heart cause with that statement alone...yea. This movie is only better than Batman and Robin. I'd even watch Mortal Kombat Annihilation over this atrocity.

Transformers had very bad elements but also very cool elements too. Dragon Ball has VERY bad elements and.......Yea just very bad elements

I gave it a 6/10

Admittedly, before I watched it my expectations were that this movie would be '****ter than a pile of **** covered in marmite', so I was surprised when I found myself actually enjoying it! Don't get me wrong, as an adaptation of Dragonball this is AWFUL! But as a movie for kids, it's quite decent. I can imagine a 6 year old me watching this and loving it.

The biggest shame about this is that I see this as a safe movie for FOX. I'm sure I read an interview with the screenwriter where he said they plan on easing the audience into the Dragonball world so eventually there wont be a problem with going to Namek and such. A sequel could be pretty well done if they followed through on this. Although, obviously with the cast and crew we have now it won't be as amazing as we had hoped for all these years.

people are aware that THE KID is making fun of you right? he is joking.

he after months completely changed hes opinion about superman returns.

Too bad the action sucked.

I honestly thought the action would be what would make this movie halfway enjoyable, but it didn't. This movie fails at even meeting my minimum expectations. You can say what you want about Transformers but that was a movie you could sit back, turn your brain off, and enjoy. If you turn your brain off during this film all you will see is a bunch of random stuff happening on screen. It fails as a summer blockbuster. This movie will tank in the US. I can't imagine the audience that will see this film, much less enjoy it.

I actually suspected he was trolling with that "true fan" crap and then turning around and saying that Dragonball actually isn't a good series.
