Early: Am I a lion?
Simon: What?
Early: I don't think of myself as a lion. You might as well, though — I have a mighty roar.
Simon: I said "Alliance".
Early: Oh, I thought...
Simon: No, I was...
Early: That's weird.

Awww... Saffron. I'm going to have to watch that episode again.

She is an amazing creature, would love to see her again, great acting as well in both episodes she was in.

This is one show with some really awesome guest characters. Badger never did anything for me, but apparently someone thinks he's awesome. We all know about Saffron, but do you know who really made me love this series second time through?

Jubal Early. A GREAT performance, imho. He really gave us a quirky bounty hunter. All professional, and he sold the whole introspective angle gloriously. I've found myself quoting him pretty often.

I have to agree, thats another thing that pisses me off about not getting a sequel, Early was apparently going to be coming back, THAT I would love to see, especially now River can more than take care of herself.

Ha ha, brilliant. BTW, the actor that played him wasnt the same one who was the bad guy in The Crow 2 was he?

Oh so good

Why did Jayne have to sleep through that episode! Grrrr

I think I remember the commentary for that one - it was not supposed to be the season finale but it got re worked.

That was hilarious though, when Jayne seems to wake up due to the ruckus, and pulls away the piece of cloth that covers all of his guns while the music swells, implying action ahead. Then he uses the cloth as a blanket and goes back to sleep. :woot:

Reminds me of how Book totally missed the Hospital Heist.

It's funny... these people inhabited this world so solidly, its hard to remember that they are just actors, and you'll see them elsewhere, theoretically...

Firefly is still IMO one of the greatest shows of all time and probably the best I can remember seeing this decade. 14 episodes of pure, brilliance, bliss and most of ll...just the right amount of shiny-ness.

The movie was an excellent opportunity to let the fans really say goodbye to these amazing characters.

Ah this show was full of great moments.

Like the hospital heist where Jayne tried to betray the crew. The aftermath of that with Mal and Jayne - real good to watch.

That was intense... it's funny because that moment was foreshadowed at the end of the first two-parter, Serenity...

(possible innaccurate quoting)
Mal: But he did make you an offer...
Jayne: (pause) Yeah.
Mal: Why didn't you take it?
Jayne: Money wasn't good enough
Mal: What happens when it is?
Jayne: Well, that will be a very interesting day.
Mal: [insert pensive agreement here]

Then in the last ep, Objects in Space, when Jayne was talking about River like he didn't want her on the ship, Mal was in his face in a split second "Is that the direction you want this conversation to go in?" It was great.

I think one of my favorite moments of the show is when Badger is holding the crew more or less hostage on their own ship and River comes out from the back and, with an accent, breaks down Badger's whole life. It was epic. Summer is great.

Another note, I watched the movie again, and looked at the special features... has anyone seen Joss Whedon's introduction to the movie... where he basically attributes the movie to the Browncoats (Fans). I've never seen a creator honor the fans so highly... not even when Mark Hamill made that Comic Book: The Movie thing.

Yeah they really set up an arc and did not forget about stories from the past.

Yes I did see that - it was very good to hear - yah! Brown Coats.

Only Family Guy I think notes its fans just as well.

Is it me or is the gag reel on the Serenity DVD the funniest one I've ever seen, Slither comes pretty close :)

yea, they are both pretty good. Fillion seems like a pretty funny guy in general, he makes the others mistakes that much funnier unless hes making a prank/joke in the first place

I love it:

"Zoe we need three bodies on top. We should put Shepard Book front and center, he was our friend we should honor that. Kaylee get that boy's body we're going to need a baby Jesus hood ornament. Jayne, try not to steal too much of their ****."

I still laugh my ass off at that.

A lot of times, I hate forced outtakes... where actors just mess up for, I dunno, destressing purposes, or even to tease each other... but that was just kinda awesome. Jewel's (Kaylee's) face when the line registers is so hilarious.

Ever seen the outtakes to Firefly on YouTube, the longer version? THere's one from The Message episode where they're listening to the recording the the camera turns to everyone and Nathan keeps popping up behind all of them.

I know, Jayne vs Early would have been great, especially which how straight Jayne was with people.

:lmao: He was great. Good episode

Christina Hendricks stars on Mad Men now as the head secretary at the ad agency. She's great in that show too.

She is a hotty, no doubt she has talent as well though.

yeah Richard Brooks was in Crow 2 & not forgetting Drive :)

Havent seen the other one, but he was TERRIBLE in The Crow 2, I remember wondering how this guy got acting jobs at the time. Yet he was FANTASTIC as Jubal Early.

Shame it wasnt an excellent oppurtunity for the fans to take the universe into the movies for at least a trilogy. Oh what could have been.

I'm Bill Pardy

Best 3 lines ever said by that man!

^Ha ha, brilliant, Fillion looks like he is hilarious in real life, would be a laugh to make a movie with him.

Wow, watched this for the first on blu-ray today and the first time in a long time in general. And I truly forgot just how amazing this movie was. The sound and picture is amazing in blu-ray, but I had forgotten just how good the actors were and the writing for them.

I love ST from this year, but its no were near as good as Serenity IMO. Honestly, I recommend the blu-ray to any fellow browncoats!

Anyone check out Leaves on the Wind? I definitely suggest it. It's the sequel we all wanted. And the ending of the first issue was amazing.

^Is it a comic book? And is it written by Joss? If so will have to get hold of it.
