The Official Serenity Thread! (Make no more)

Ooooh, Zack Whedon's a damn good TV writer! I've never read a comic by him, so I'll have to check this out.

^Some of the Serenity ones I have read were pretty good, so I imagine this one will be as well, I am just waiting for the TPB.

I'm bumping this thread after over a year. Rewatching Serenity for the first time in years and that moment when the reaver ships comes through the clouds and the operative's reaction has to be one of the best moments in film. Joss Whedon really loves to do those 'and then the sh%% hits the fan' moments in his films.

I wonder if there will be a 10th anniversary edition blu ray. It came out in September 2005!

One can hope. A really unheralded gem in the wider pop culture. Whedon knew how to make what could be formulaic Sci Fi and have you on the edge of your seat. Even when my grandma watched it for the first time she was apprehensive about how it would all end.

Still such a good movie, one of my favourites for all time and have been a big fan of Whedon since, thankfully I watched it after discovering Firefly, so enjoyed it even more.

My first viewing in over a year seeing as this has now been out for 10 years, it's still a damn good movie and still my favourite Whedon movie. It's a damn shame we never got a sequel or two as this could have been such a good series.

Still absolutely love the characters also.

I love Serenity! Malcom Reynolds is one of my favourite characters, and Chiwetel Ejiofor was one badass antagonist.

Yeah Mal is awesome and The Operative was a great bad guy. Just wish we would have gotten to see more of them after Serenity.

True that. But, I have to say that some part of me is happy that Firefly ended when it did, because it truly ended when it was at it's best. I hate when a show I love goes the way of Dexter and Prison Break. :csad:

I saw Serenity in theatres before I saw the Firefly series. Didn't ruin a thing. Loved the characters immediately.

I have the first comic miniseries, but would love to read all the others. Completionist in me.

If X-Files can get a revival, I bet someone is pitching a Firefly/Serenity revival to studios now...

If this had a sequel I can see it being one of those things that sounds good in theory but will be shat on from minute one.
