The Official Serenity Thread! (Make no more)

The Question said:
Alan Tudick as a pirate equals amazing.

...and also very good as the motion capture behind the Robot in that Will Smith Flick. I Robot right?

I've never seen FireFly, but I saw Serenity a couple of days ago... I really dug it, a lot. Did't like that death tho... that was sad... I liked that character. :(

Question said:
He was a great character. Get Firefly is you want to see more of him.
 ... and we're not just saying this because we like the show. Wash (Alan) had some AMAZING moments in the Firefly series. At first you think he's just the standard comic relief character, and then you see the Mal vs Niska episode (someone help me with the name of this one) and you realize why Zoe married the guy...he's got 'mad' heart!

The Question said:
Yes, she was. She played the ghost of a balarina from the early 1900s who was traped, forever haunting the theater she worked at by the man who owned the theater, who happened to be a sorcerer.

Well... Just one episode.

That'd be 'Waiting In the Wings', I believe.

First Evil. Devil. Same thing.

No, it isn't. In Buffyverse, they're not big on traditional theology and Christian conventions. While, the First Evil is not the Devil, I can see where the inspiration might come from, but I've never heard it verbalised.

The devil is a little more concrete, while the brilliant concept of the First Evil is that it is basically evil inherent in man's hearts and abstract inventions. For that reason, Satan is that little bit removed from us... He is not considered to be a part of us, nor as part of evil that inhabits us just as the good side does.

Onto greener pastures - I love Wash. And Book. Forcefully. Passionately. Feverishly. Is it any wonder that their deaths had catapulted their status into my list...? :(

Well, still. They rock. Incidentally, when I watched Serenity, I hadn't seen 'Out of Gas' yet; I was halfway through the very incomplete season, so after the film, I started to love and review the characters of Wash and Book more, and felt more fondness for them, knowing their abysmal fate... :(

Of course, that's not the only reason why. Wash ruled especially in 'War Stories', but then he had had always ruled.

And Alan Tudyk is damn cute too. I should look him up - because I don't know his nationality, or anything about him really.

Damn, I was wondering where Tudyk was in I, Robot. I'd only seen snippets of it, and I was puzzled as to where the hell he was, seeing that his name appeared after the 'and' in the closing credits.

I'll have to watch it.

I wonder what all the actors are doing at the present time.

Great news about Serenity being profitable. I should buy more dvds and dish 'em out!

I liked the death of Wash from a storytelling point of view. The greatness of his character lends more to the emotional scope of both the viewer and the characters involved. The only bad thing is that the sequel will prolly have a sub-par replacement.

Okay, that's just spliting hairs. For all intents and purposes, the first evil is the devil.

Depends on how you interprit it. Some see the devil as an outside force trying to currpt us. Some se it as a metaphore for the darkness inherent in us all. Some don't see the devil as evil at all, simply a symbol of rebelion. As someone who lives outside of society's conventions and lives for having fun. Weather or not that's a bad thing is up to the person. Some see the devil as a symbol of chaos. Really, it's up to interpretatio.

Morena's recently had a reocouring part on the O.C. Nathan is staring in the thriller/horor films "Slither" and "White Noise 2". Jewel I've heard played an alien on Stargate SG1 recently. Last time I saw Adam, he played a villain on "Bones".

Now that it's made a profit, Universal may consider a sequel. And, statistically speaking, sequels make more than the origional film.

Maybe. Way I see it, it would be cool, if things are continued through a new movie or a new series, to have Zoe seeing Wash from time to time, and wondering if she's going crazy.

Did anyone notice the mistake in War Stories? When Mal's ear that was cut off changed sides of his head a few times, LOL. Great episode though. And i was sorry to see what happened to both Book and Wash. But i think i would have been the same if any character had been killed off.

Oh and hey Lexcorp, how you been?

So-so just like anyone else really Lex

Did anyone also notice that one of the first Reaver ships through the Ion cloud after Serenity is the one that chases them in the pilot episode. I noticed after about 5 times of watching it.

No but I will check that out. Back for revenge haha! Anyone notice Mal (Nathans) work in "2 guys a girl and a pizza place"?

Is that a movie Lex? never heard of it.

TV show. He won an award for it actualy an emmy I think. Was low key but ran longer than FireFly. Google search dude!! lol

He also played the jerk boyfreind in "blast from the past". He had, like, five or six lines.

Forgive me for the digression, but I just need to tell you. I got bored last night, so I put my Independence Day DVD on. All throughout the movie I kept thinking to myself "Man, that Major Mitchell looks soooooo familiar..."

Jayne (young Adam Baldwin) was in Preadtor 2. :o

I need to watch Independence Day again.

In ID4 he's just an army guy, but he gets a few lines, I think in Predator 2 he gets like 2 lines.

Zoe has like a bit part in the Matrix Reloaded.

Yeah, she is supposed to be the wife of Dozer from the first movie.

Yep that was it. Has anyone seen Inara in anything else?

I believe she has been in The O.C a few times as a recurring character, but i dont watch the show so i dont know how much she was in it.

Really I would be happy for her if I liked the OC. I do not like that show I have watched a lot of it to know that I do not like it!

I've never tried it, has some hot girls though. I'm hoping Morena is cast as Wonder Woman in Joss's film.
