The Official Skaar: Son of Hulk Thread

Yeah, Greg Pak said a while that he had a trilogy planned. Planet Hulk, WWH, and now Planet Skaar, or probably more like the Skaar run in general.

I really hope Skaar's either stranded on Earth for good and becomes a normal part of the MU, or gets to go on crazy cosmic adventures.

I'd prefer cosmic adventures.

I know, right? I really was an awesome issue. That fight was great. It was better than the Hulk/SS fight and I really liked the Hulk/SS fight. It's really interesting seeing Butch Guice doing a sci-fi book like this after being so used to his Captain America stuff. I prefer Ron Garney but Guice is pretty damn cool.

I think it would be great to see some art from Timothy Green II. He did some of the art in this Skaar one-shot and it was pretty cool. He really excels at that sci-fi stuff. Pagulayan did the pencils in the main story of that one-shot though, and it was literally the best I've ever seen his art look. Check it out.

Of course, if this book becomes a major cosmic book then that'll solitify my buying it. Loves me my cosmics.

And I just realized Ron Lim will be the ongoing artist starting at 11 with Planet Skaar. I love Ron Lim!

We've got a space cop with Nova and space soldiers with GotG... I think it's about time for a space barbarian.

Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap!

I just read Skaar Son of Hulk and at the end... All I can say is :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I know right isn't that insane. WTF just happened!

I don't know, dude! I know that Planet Skaar is coming along right after this story arc though so somehow Skaar is gonna end on Earth, but I really didn't see THAT coming.

Skaar sure has been badass though.

I'm sure it'll be explained in one of the next two issues of this arc and is the reason why Skaar goes to Earth to find his dear ol' daddy. I'm pretty excited about this and the new Savage She-Hulk mini because the real She-Hulk is in it and Fred Van Lente is writing it. The Hulk Family is doing good. except for you know Hulk, but I liked him in Mighty Avengers too bad he's gone.

Aren't Pak and Van Lente like, Hulk's saviors? His appearence in Incredible Herc 126 was cool, Skaar son of Hulk has been nothing but excellent since the beginning, the Savage She-Hulk mini looks pretty cool... If it wasn't for those guys there would Jeph Loeb's Hulk and that's it.

I gotta say I'm pretty glad I can get my Hulk fix somewhere else.

It already IS cosmic, really. It takes place on a distant planet, it's a pretty solid sci-fi meets Conan type story and Silver Surfer just returned to Sakaar in #7 and will be a big part of the story up until issue 11. And #8 came out Wednesday and Ron Lim penciled it.

Nothing in comics for the last 10 years has felt as right as Ron Lim drawing the Silver Surfer again. He and the Surfer are synonymous to me.

The ending of Skaar was pretty cool. Personally, I think it's Caiera's spirit using the Oldpower to create some kind of illusion or construct.

I mean tied in with the other Cosmic books. However, Silver Surfer showing up really does begin that road, but then he's going to Earth during Planet Skaar so I kinda feel like it's vearing away from that :(

But yeah, I just read issue 8 and I loved it. Definately getting the rest of the arc and I might even continue on. Oh... and much to your glea, I substituted Hulk for Skaar this week. And chances are it'll stay that way.

That's what I'm talkin' about, JH! And trust me, Skaar is light years beyond Hulk in awesomeness.

Oh, that I can tell. And Skaar at 2.99 and Hulk at 3.99... yeah, that's a no brainer.

Imagine if after the big arc where Skaar comes to Earth he starts hanging out with Herc

Heh, that would be pretty funny. Herc is usually pretty carefree and Skaar is pretty much the opposite. I mean, he proclaimed himself killer of killers...

I wonder how Skaar compares with dudes like Herc and Hulk in terms of strength? Hmm... I wonder if Skaar gets stronger as he gets madder?

From what I can gather so far, Skaar's powers include super-strength, durability, and invulnerability to fire/heat. I figure he probably has some kind of regenerative ability but I'm not sure. I wish I knew Greg Pak so I could just ask him.

Skaar #11. #8 just came out Wednesday so at the end of this arc Planet Skaar will start up.

Hulk Herc and Skaar... also Rulk news from the marvel wondercon panel

When will readers find out who the Red Hulk is? Paniccia: There will be a special with issue #600 which will get readers much closer to the answer. The reveal will come sometime in 2010, Paniccia said.

Incredible Hercules is safe for the foreseeable future, Paniccia said, as the switchover retained readers, and the book’s sales have not suffered with the change from Incredible Hulk.

Will the Hulk persona from Planet Hulk and World War Hulk be seen again? Paniccia – that version of the Hulk may be seen again...soon. Paniccia noted that there’s a reason for the apparent memory loss the Hulk seems to be exhibiting in the current series.

There are plans in place for a Skaar Son of Hulk: War of Kings with Editor Bill Rosemann, who, Paniccia said is very meticulously building up Marvel’s cosmic line of books.

everything sounds good except that we're gonna have to wait till 2010 to know who the big Red *****e is. not that I'm reading it anyways

Skaar Son of Hulk: War of Kings. What is this? It shounds very intresting.

I guess Skaar is coming to Earth and then will be going back to space
