Good chances the debates on First Take are just staged but its a guilty pleasure of mine. Watching him and Stephen A. debate is hilarious.

One of the funniest things are Stephen A Smith's reactions to Skip's opinions. Me and my friends made a drinking game out of it. We hit up the tivo and take a shot everytime Stephen A smith either yells at or makes a funny look at Skip.

First Take used to be some what tolerable and Skip was toned down a bit but now ESPN's milking it for all it's worth putting Stephen A on First Take full time and taking the leash off Skip.

He's a master at dodging facts he can't refute, setting up straw men for him to knock down, and twisting other peoples arguments so that he "wins".

Pretty sure today after saying the Celtics win game one he said he purposely said the Celtics win to spur the Miami Heat who he said knows watch the show and that it was all a plan because he had the Heat winning it all.

I do agree with Skip on some things but definitely not Tebow or LeBron. I agree wholeheartedly with him and Cowherd that Rose is supremely overrated and just about as good as Russell Westbrook.

I created this thread right after seeing that this morning. It's ridiculous.

That's why I miss Woody Paige on the show. He was much better at debating Skip than Stephen A Smith. Any ridiculous opinion Skip had, Woody was great at tearing apart without yelling or anything. He would simply make light hearted jabs and then proceed to prove him wrong.

Woody is a goof ball but he's way more tolerable and less extreme. Also, he has something key that I don't think I've ever seen Bayless do....and that's use facts and information.

Bayless uses facts when he wants to. When it suits his argument, when it doesn't they go out the window. That's why people have such a huge problem with his views on LeBron and Tebow. With Tebow it's "ALL HE DOES IS WIN GAMES!" and with LeBron it's "HE FILLS THE STAT SHEET BUT HE'S ROBIN!"

LOL at this thread first of all, but honestly, Skip has been prodded to be the way he is now. I remember the Cold Pizza days when it was just him and Woody, and he was extremely subdued by comparison.

But the power behind the scenes at First Take have more than likely encouraged his behavior and also the usage of social media, which is why they have a new Hashtag "something" damn near everyday. I like the banter between him and Stephen A, I think it's entertainment more than anything else, but even when Skip has some ground to stand on (he definitely was first on Lebron way back in '07, the Spurs this year, and some of Tebow's improbable crap) he just grinds it down your throat in such a relentless way that it almost makes Stephen A necessary to retort with the same level of brashness.

This. This is also my problem with Stephen A Smith. He could do way better with numbers. I think he could go deeper into the numbers and outdebate Skip instead of yelling at him.

You guys are wrong. I love Skip. Finally someone who can't stand Lebron more than me. I didn't think it was possible.

His Lebron hate is unfair though. Even when he does amazing, he picks one thing to nitpick. Hell, in game 1 against Boston he had a great game and instead he chooses the whole time to criticize Lebron for what he thought was showboating.

Also, his Tim Tebow love is unbearable. They have Tim Tebow as a subject for discussion for news that even sportscenter isn't reporting.
