The Official Start/Release Date & Location Thread - Part 1

i CANT be the only one who noticed-

SUPERMAN 2 is WAY too far alog to be out for summer 2009.

1. singer has already signed on. it took nolan about a year longer

2. there is already a title

3. theres already plot discussion

4.Singers is already writing it

but the biggest....

5. THE PRODUCERS SAY IT WILL BEGIN FILMING MID TO LATE 2007!

It doesnt take 2 years to film. Returns began filming in march 05 for a june 06t release date. a span of 15 months.

if superman begins filming between may-october of 2007, then the OBVIOUS release date is HOLIDAYS 2008!!

I am confused as hell...though I forgot I made one earlier

LOL the flow of this thread has been compromised. I will just say hi for now.

Well with WB's announcing an official release date for The Hobbit on December 14th 2012, then WB's should prepare to set a release date for Man Of Steel on Wednesday December 26th or Friday December 28th.

That's a good two weekends apart for the Holidays, so they won't be competing head to head against each other. Man Of Steel is ahead of schedule compared to the troubled Trek sequel, which isn't even in pre-production yet.

If WB's assigns Man Of Steel a Dec 26th or 28th release date, then Trek may wind up getting squeezed in between Hobbit and Man Of Steel on Friday Decembr 21st?

Bad spot for Trek if that winds up happening and good spots for both The Hobbit and Superman Man Of Steel...potentially of course. WB's needs to snag the Dec 26th or Dec 28th release dates for Man Of Steel asap!

Neither of those dates will happen. It will not open after Christmas day.

W.B. are making a collosal mistake if they think they can open both in December. I dont know why they dont just give Superman December to himself since he cannot ope in 2013; and stick the Hobbit in July 2013 where it will challenge every TDKR box office record.

So we know that Warner Bros is looking at a December 2012 release date. But the thing is they can't put it in December. Why? Because of The Hobbit. The Hobbit is scheduled to be released on December 14. Now they could put it in November but Twilight is being released on November 16. So my question to you guys is where exactly should they released Man of Steel. Now this film has to be released before 2013. I think and this is kinda crazy but released it in October. Nothing big is ever released in this slow month so it'll have the entire month by itself since their would be nothing big to go see. What do you guys think?

The problem is that not many people go to movie theaters in September, October, and November. When I've gone those months, it's very empty. The ideal dates would be Summer or December/January; in those months the theaters fill because of school vacation / holidays.

Harry Potter, Twillight, Enchanted say hi. All released in November and made more than 300M. They should back push The Hobbit back to Christmas day. Then release Superman on November 30th. Gives time for Twillight to be calm down and lets Superman run 26 days without The Hobbit on its back.
