that's what people call system sellers, buddy. but the thing is once you have that new console there for that one game you bought, you have it at your disposal for whatever else may come out to spark your interest.

At that point you are spending almost $350 for one game. Only you can decide if one game is worth that much for you to own

well thats the thing about smash... is it worth buying its respective console for?

That's up to you. Are you the kind of person who can afford to drop 350 plus $59.99 for a single game and/or is it a game that you're going to playing constantly for a year or more? That's up to you.

If you're going to buy any system, there's no point on only buying 1 game for it.

Takamaru From Mysterious Murasame Castle Is An Assist Trophy In Super Smash Bros. July 28, 2014 . 9:00am

The Mysterious Murasame Castle has been confirmed for release on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console in North America, and to coincide with the news, the game’s protagonist, Takamaru, has been confirmed as an assist trophy in Smash.

Director Masahiro Sakurai posted the screenshot above to Miiverse with the following description: “I, Takamaru, have waited many years to appear in Super Smash Bros.! Link, Samus, Pit, and I debuted in the same year! Multidirectional Pinwheel Knife Rook Attack!! (FYI, I’m an Assist Trophy.)”

Super Smash Bros. will be released for Nintendo 3DS this October. A Wii U release is scheduled for later in the year during the holiday season.

In this case, no. Smash is worth having, absolutely, and the Wii U is a great system if you really like Nintendo games, but there are no third party games on this system. Halo was a system seller for Xbox, but you had access to all the third party titles coming down the pipeline. There's none of that here. The Wii U is for Nintendo fans. If you buy one you'll have access to a decent library of Nintendo titles, the vast majority of which are stellar games.

Ultimately, if you don't give a **** about Nintendo, there's no reason to purchase the Wii U. If you really want to play Smash, pick up a 3DS XL and Smash Bros for the 3DS.

Also, new rumor time!

Wario is a character that many people love, never mind the fact that he is somewhat an anti-hero and has a greed that is seemingly insatiable. Come to think of it, Mario too, ain’t a saint, going after the horde of gold coins, it is just that he has a far better PR team to manage his image among the masses. Having said that, a recent tweet that shows the Nintendo 3DS eShop listing by Nintendo does point to the very real possibility of Wario making it to Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U.

The source of this bit of information does seem to be pretty watertight being the eShop itself, but until something official is announced, it is always prudent to take things with a pinch of salt. Wario, made even more famous via his extremely zany WarioWare series, has appeared in the Super Smash Bros. series before, appearing on the Nintendo Wii in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. As for his purported upcoming appearance in Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U, it looks as though both of his classic and biker outfits will be made available.

We do look forward to an official announcement in the near future though, so hopefully something along such lines will appear before Super Smash Bros. arrives on the Nintendo 3DS later this 3rd of October 3, while Wii U owners will have to wait until the holiday period.

They've hinted at some sort of Wii U/3DS functionality, but I don't think you can play the 3DS version with the Wii U version

no it's it's own thing will have some stage's and characters in common but it's have it's own stuff. there will be no cross play for that one though sorry.

I literally told you this exact thing on the last page...

If you have no interest in anything Nintendo outside Smash, then odds are there isn't going to be anything to spark your interest. 3rd party is going to be dead on the system outside the occasional Sonic or Activision game.

It's listed as coming to it ad while it was pushed back the sales are high on it ad helped the Wii U sales out before we saw the new stuff @ E3 I remember posting that from Siliconera ad posibly joystiq in the Wii U thread. it was media big deal of by some parts of the gamer media

Watch Dogs for Wii U, especially in a few months, feels like too little too late.

my bad dude I don't think I even saw it probably because it was the last post on the previous page. you shoulda quoted me coz then i get a notification for it.

and you're right, there's not really anything on nintendo that sparks my interest... i don't care about pokemon even though the rest of the whole damn world does, i was more of a digimon kid, and i don't care about mario either... i grew out of that waaay long ago, ever since my 8th or 9th birthday present was a playstation.

and i don't think i ever played zelda but i don't think i want to either. or metroid.

Did you hear the news? We have a Paper Mario stage!!!! YAY!!!!

In honor of this, I'm going to play Thousand-Year Door for the 1000th time. BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME!

Here’s A Look At Namco’s Boss Galaga Item In Super Smash Bros. July 30, 2014 . 10:31am

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS has items based on classic Bandai Namco games, and one of these is the Boss Galaga item.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS has items based on classic Bandai Namco games, and one of these is the Boss Galaga item.

Over on Miiverse, director Masahiro Sakurai showed the item off, stating: “If you get caught in the Boss Galaga item’s tractor beam, it will carry you away to the top of the screen. You can shoot it down, but it won’t join you in battle for double the firepower.”

In addition to the items that can appear in the game’s stages, Pac-Man’s taunt includes references to other Namco games a well. Using his up taunt causes Namco characters from the ‘80s to pop up in his hand.

If there's one thing Sakurai knows how to do, it's add items and characters from all over. He did it in Brawl, and now he's doing it here. Go Sakurai!

Reshiram, Zekrom And Milotic Will Appear In Super Smash Bros. July 31, 2014 . 11:00am

Director Masahiro Sakurai confirms some of the Pokémon that will come out of Poké Balls in the game.

The Poké Ball is one of the returning items in Super Smash Bros., and tossing one onto the battlefield will result in a Pokémon coming out and affecting the fight or stage in some way. One of these Pokémon is Reshiram.

As always, director Masahiro Sakurai made the reveal in a Miiverse post. He also confirmed other Pokémon such as Zekrom and Milotic will appear in the game.

During a Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct presentation earlier in the year, Sakurai stated that legendary Pokémon come out from Master Balls in the game. It’s likely that on the rare occasion you’ll be able to find one inside a regular Poké Ball as well, but Master Balls contain legendary Pokémon exclusively.

Thus far, Arceus, Xerneas, Deoxys, Palkia, Entei, Keldeo and Victini are some of the other legendaries that have been confirmed to be in the game.

Regarding the screenshot above, Sakurai stated: “It’s close enough to the launch date, so I don’t have to describe this stage to you, right? The design of this stage is based off of the surroundings of someone’s castle.”

Super Smash Bros. Director Reveals New Mini-Game For 3DS Version. August 1, 2014 . 12:30pm

“This is a new activity that combines the concepts of Target Smash and the Home-run Contest,” Sakurai said on Miiverse.

Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai revealed a new mini-game for the Nintendo 3DS version of the game last night. On Miiverse, Sakurai discussed a new feature called “Target Blast”.

Sakurai wrote: “What’s up with this bomb? This looks like the stadium for the Home-run Contest, but there’s no bat. Once you touch the bomb, it begins to count down. Give it enough damage and launch it at the right time…then once the bomb’s countdown hits zero…!!”

He continued: “…It goes BOOOOOM! Not only will the blast destroy targets, but it’ll also cause a chain reaction by using shattered walls and bomb blocks–all of which contributes to you getting a high score!!”

“This is a new activity that combines the concepts of Target Smash and the Home-run Contest—it’s called Target Blast! Your final score is the total you rack up over two rounds. Of course, your Target Blast scores contribute to your Global Smash Power, too.”
