I loved this:
Because there's a lot of theories as to why Metaknight will/won't be back in Smash. This is much like the Game & Watch thing at the end of the Pac-Man reveal. There's no reason to think that he won't be in the game, yet there's no update on the site to say that there is.
Thus, until we get that answer, we have to speculate endlessly. Hence, trolling.
God bless you, Sakurai. Just two days after the funny tease, Meta Knight has been confirmed as a returning character in Super Smash Bros. You can find screenshots of him below from both Wii U and 3DS versions.
On Miiverse, Sakurai wrote: “‘Looks like there was an impostor in the earlier posts, so I introduced him to my sword!’ …I’ll leave it up to your imagination if he really said that or not. The veteran hero, Meta Knight, returns to battle!! We didn’t forget the Battleship Halberd either!!”
In a follow-up comment, he added: “Meta Knight’s Up Special Move, Shuttle Loop, changed quite a bit in this game. The glide is gone, and the attack slashes opponents twice while spinning in a large loop. This has turned into a highly technical and effective move.”

Looks like Europe is getting a 3DS XL bundle, no word on other regions yet.

While it's not the best design I feel they could've done...I'd totally trade in my 3DS XL for this one.
source:SiliconeraNintendo have updated the official website for Super Smash Bros. with a few details about the Nintendo 3DS version of the game. Among these details are how the game’s different modes will function, including the “Classic” mode outlined below, which will allow you to adjust the game’s difficulty with a slider, similar to Kid Icarus: Uprising.
In Classic mode on the Nintendo 3DS, players choose different paths as they proceed along a map and fight against waiting CPU opponents.
There are many different kinds of matches, including one-on-one fights, team battles with CPU players both aiding and attacking you, matches where you must defeat opponents one after another or in groups, and even more.
When you win a match, you will receive a reward. Besides trophies and gold, you can also receive custom parts.
Before starting a game, you can use gold to adjust the intensity level. The higher the intensity, the stronger opponents will be, and the greater a player’s rewards will be when victorious.
The website also details the game’s “Stadium mode,” which you can find further down on this page. Meanwhile, details on the “Smash Run” mode can be found here.

In Super Smash Bros., you can customize the special moves of your characters while fighting the CPU or playing against friends. For example, Marios Fireball can either be a regular Fireball, a Fast Fireball or a Fire Orb, each with their own traits.
This potentially gives every character in the game twelve special moves to choose from, while selecting abilities to take into battle, and last night on Miiverse, director Masahiro Sakurai highlighted two of Mega Mans customized moves.
Sakurai wrote: Heres Beat! And Plant Barrier!! These are some of Mega Mans custom special moves. You might also be able to use some signature boss-like moves from the Mega Man series, too.

The Nintendo 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. has a 4-player mode where you explore a labyrinth, collect power-ups and then battle it out with the other three players. Titled Smash Run, this mode allows you to select power-ups to take with you to improve your performance.
On Miiverse, director Masahiro Sakurai showed off the screen where you equip your power-ups, and once again, this looks somewhat similar in concept to Kid Icarus: Uprising, which is another of Sakurai’s games and shares a number of UI elements in common with Smash.
“Here’s the place you equip powers for Smash Run,” Sakurai wrote. “Pack a good mix of them like a lunch box, and off you go! You can change how your powers are set up by touching their icons and dragging them.”
He added, “If you hit the X Button, it will randomly fill up the remaining weight allowance with powers. You can keep changing the line-up as many times as you please. The level of a power is proportional to its strength, number of uses, and weight. Organizing them might be easier if you label your favorite powers with a ★.”
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will be available this October in North America and Europe.

The Nightmare Wizard from Kirby is an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros., director Masahiro Sakurai revealed over Miiverse last night.
“Nightmare Wizard appears as an Assist Trophy! He will engulf the stage in darkness, and fighters will need to brawl blindly for a while,” Sakurai wrote.
“Look out for the effect before it goes dark, and play it to your advantage. Blinding and reversal effects even make the computer players mess up.”
