The Official Tom Welling Thread - Part 1

He is good. Loved how he played Ultraman/CL.

If Smallville did it right he would have been a good Superman.
Still happy the way it ended.

I've started doing a couple of drawings of the cast that I'm hoping to turn into a full painting by summer's end. So here's the first one featuring Tom in the suit.

SUPER work SpideyVille I'm greatly looking forward to seeing your artwork that features Lois, Clark, and Lex

Wow you captured Tom perfectly as Superman.

This could be good for TW after Smallville. Ben Affleck got to wear the George Reeves Superman suit for Hollywoodland as he was playing him. :super:

Ben Affleck directs really good movies. Hopefully this one will be great.

It's not true.

The next film Ben Affleck is directing is about an Iranian hostage crisis.

Oh well would have been cool. I do wish tom the best with future endevenors.

Would be cool for tom but never watched house myself.

It's always nice to see Tom Welling get some love...

Awesome find.

Love that show and Tom Welling would be a very interesting choice, especially if he was some hot-shot specialist doctor from some top medical school.

It'd be awesome, but I actually like the idea of Allison Janney from The West Wing doing it.

She wouldn't let House get away with a thing.

I think it will be interesting to see what they do with Lisa Edlestein leaving...

I think Tom Welling should join an already well established show on one of the big networks. He can get more exposure that way if he hasn't already done so with the last 10 years on Smallville.

Welling changed agencies yesterday. Interesting.

As Tom Welling, the actor who played Clark Kent/Superman on the CW's Smallville, looks beyond the recently-concluded show, his first move is to switch representation.
Welling has signed with WME; he had been with CAA.
Smallville, which ran from 2001 to 2011, starred Welling as a young, super-powered Kent. The series began on the WB before switching to the CW when the channel merged with UPN. It is the longest-running comic book-based series in TV history, with Welling rising to executive producer on the show. He also directed episodes as well.
Welling was focused on the show but did veer off on several feature film tangents, appearing in 2003’s Cheaper by the Dozen and the 2005 sequel.
He was also an exec producer on the short-lived CW series Hellcats.

Also this interview from new head of CW Mark Pedowitz:

When Smallville was coming to an end, we’d heard that The CW was looking at possible other DC Comics, including the character of Raven. Is Raven still in development, or are there other DC characters you might look at?

PEDOWITZ: That was before I got to the company. We are looking, next year, to do superheroes, if the right superhero comes to be. Having Warner Bros. as one of our partner companies, and their having DC Comics, makes it very intriguing to find the right superhero.

You came to The CW at a time when Smallville was ending. If you could have turned the clock back, do you think that show would have had life left in it, beyond the point that it ended?

PEDOWITZ: That was a decision made before my time, and I have no opinion about that. I think they did a great job delivering a finale to its fans.

Has Tom Welling approached you to produce any other shows for the network?

PEDOWITZ: Well, I know Tom is probably in development right now. I do hope that he comes back to The CW, and I do hope he comes with a show that he wants to star in. We would be very receptive to the whole thing.

Thats nice to hear he would want to work with tom and his company. And the deal with his agency that happens all the time with actors. So I wouldn't put in anything on it.

People just dont change representation for the hell of it. Obviously someone, likely Tom, wasnt happy with some aspect of it.

Sure probably something in his contract wasn't good. I was only mentioning that actors/etc..... switch reps all the time. Its always in the entertainment news sites and all that. So that is all I was getting at.
