Those pants were such a hit, after the Tony Awards he wore them for the rest of the Boy from Oz run during this particular number in the show. Before the Tonys he just wore tight black pants in this number. You have to remember Hugh was playing Peter Allen, and everyone who knew Peter said they thought Hugh was channeling him onstage, he had him down so perfectly. The gold pants were SO Peter Allen - he was VERY flamboyant and wore stuff like that all the time.Advanced Dark said:^^^

Hey Hugh,
What the hell were you thinking. You look like you're getting a little too comfy in those sparkly pants. Many members of this board are seeking pyschological counseling after seeing these photo's. LOL
The Boy from Oz was about Peter Allen, who was a famous flashy Australian entertainer during the 1970s and died from AIDS in 1992. He was Liza Minnelli's first husband (even though he was gay/bisexual) and was discovered by Judy Garland. He won an Oscar for "Arthur's Theme" and wrote "I Honestly Love You" among many other songs you would know. The play was about his life. Hugh is doing an arena performance of the show for about two months later this year in Australia. Here's a picture of Peter:OutcryX said:wow...what was The Boy from Oz about exactly? those are some very...uh.."FLASHY" outfits....
