The Old School Cartoon Network Avatar Thread

Also that smell thing where you scratch and sniff ,I got one and man it was hard to do!

welcome, thank god i have Boomerang now so i can watch Dexter's Lab, Johnny Brovo, Powerpuff Girls, ect 24/7 :D

Stupid charter! Isn't it only Direct TV that has boomerang? Or I could just go to red robins....

I think Comcast gets Boomerang, but you've got to have a special package from them to get it. It doesn't seem to come in their basic cable pack.

Anyway, I've got DirecTV and Boomerang, so I'm happy. They appear to be playing a Teen Titans marathon right now.

i had Time Warner before ( i had basic) and you had to have premium package to have channels like that, now i switched over to Verizon Fios for the same price i get more channels like Boomerang, VH1 Classics, a bunch of MTV music channels, a couple movie channels, Nick 2, Nick Toons, and much more

I have a good discussion for old Cartoon Network, who remembers the old cross overs such as Fred Flintstone and George Jetson?

I loved NickToons when they played all of the old nicktoon shows, but now it seems like the NickToons channel is where Nick puts all of their new cartoons instead.

yes i remember that crossover, i think it was a two parter episode

I want to say Dexter did something but it could of been just on 'Cartoon Cartoon Fridays'

i know, i remeber my cousin had NickToons in 2005 and it had Angry Beavers, Ren & Stimpy, ect, now i have NickToons its all gone :cmad:
i hope Nick gets another channel just called Nick Toons 90's

Dexter's Lab didn't crossover into Powerpuff Girls, but there were a bunch of times where they showed they took place in the same universe. The PPGirls met the heroes of A.W.S.M. that consisted of some of the Justice Friends, and Bubbles knew DeeDee's imaginary friend Koosie.

I would subscribe to that!

Do they still show Sky Commanders and Centurions?
What about SuperPowers...damn! the good ol days. These kids today don't even know what a Looney Tune is let alone the Hanna Barberra stuff.:csad:

I haven't seen those shows lately, but they still manage to play a ton of Hanna-Barbera. They play a Zoo lineup every morning full of HB animal cartoons (good for your daily Magilla Gorilla fix), and Jetsons & Flintstones play back to back every night. They also play a regular block of cartoons featuring teens solving crimes (I'd never even seen Clue Club before I had Boomerang).

Of course, it only makes sense for them to pimp Hanna-Barbera. Cartoon Network bought them at least 10 years ago. Hanna-Barbera Studios was literally renamed Cartoon Network Studios. That's why Adult Swim can play around with those shows and characters all they want.

You know who I mostly blame for the lack of Looney Tunes on TV? ABC. The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show had been coming on Saturday mornings since the 1960s, and ABC only took it off the air this past decade.

I know right, 40 damn years they ran them shorts.
Probably right round the time they got bought by the mouse...I miss Porky Pig

Actually, it took them a few years. Disney bought ABC in the mid-90s, but they didn't snatch Bugs & Tweety off the air until after the year 2000. I think it has more to do with the death of Saturday morning cartoons than anything. ABC probably didn't want to pay Time-Warner to play their cartoons anymore when they decided that their Saturday morning lineup would consist entirely of Disney Channel reruns.
