I disagree, I am not a huge fan of the series ( I would say I am somewhat of a fan). But I found 1 and 2 to be boring ( with some good parts here and there) PA 3 is the best so far mostly because it gives more backstory into the girls and the reason the demon is after Hunter etc. Plus the ending to part 3 was intense and creepy.

I'm loving the PA series mostly because it's the best theater experience you can have. It's like going to those paid hunted houses during this time, it's good cheap scares that keep me on edge.

Also generally I find suspense of not knowing to be more frightening than the actual scare, maybe that plays into why I love this series.

This I agree with! I have had some of the best/ most fun times at the movies watching those films opening weekend with a huge crowd.

Agreed. I thought PA3 was really entertaining and well made. Loved the ending with [BLACKOUT]the witches[/BLACKOUT].

If anyone is seriously considering seeing this movie, do not read ComingSoon's/STYD's review. They completely give away the twist without any spoiler warning.

Yeah i'm not reading any reviews even if there's no spoilers. I want to go in with expecting nothing.

I heard that some reviews are spoiling the ending, I am glad I didn't read said reviews. I have only read the IGN review and watched two reviews on YouTube and it seems this movie plays it too safe and doesn't advance the plot the way PA 3 did. I am still going to go see it though with friends this weekend.

I don't read the reviews, and I don't care about them. I just can't wait to be in the movie theater on opening night. Even if the movie sucks, that experience will be utterly worth it.

This is like one of the few franchises where you actually want the crowd to be kind of rowdy and into it. If it was just dead silence I couldn't watch it. Mostly from being freaked out. :csad:

I guess they are showing early screenings in selected areas, tomorrow they are showing PA4 at my theater before the midnight screenings. I'm still going on Saturday night though, I can't wait.

I saw the first movie early on, but the PA2 and PA3 I saw on opening night, and it was awesome. The crowds were hysterical.

And holy ****, I just saw the TV spot with [BLACKOUT]the little shadow walking up to Robbie (Hunter?) in the Kinect dots[/BLACKOUT]. That was creepiest spot I've seen so far. :wow:

The twist? I'm sure they already showed the ending in the commercials where someone once again gets dragged away.

totally agree, Kane.

So for awhile there I kept seeing commercials that said "Starts Thursday at 10" now the commercials say "Starts at 9." Did they add an extra showing due to popular demand? lol

Either way I got my tickets for the 10pm showing. Can't wait.

Saw this a couple of nights ago at a pre-screening. Loved it (as I do the previous films). I will say to anyone wanting to see it to keep your expectations in check though; it's a much smaller film that the previous 2. I don't want to spoil anything so Ill just leave it at that. And yes, not only does the mythology expand (as it does in every film), but it leaves you with so many questions and theories by the end. My friends and I had such long discussions about this movie afterwards.

Can't wait to see where it all goes from here.

And no, the ending is not in any of the trailers or TV spots that I've seen (i.e. No one gets "dragged away"). It's actually pretty ****ed lol.

Really because some of the spoiler free reviews that I have read have said that this movie doesn't advance the overall plot of the series like PA 3 did. Some reviews have even said that there is barely a story in this one to begin with (which is dispointing if true) but I am still going to go see it for myself and the crowd will make it fun regardless.

People I watch said it isn't anything special.

But I guess it'll be anyone's guess.

Love all these films. They are really well-done.

People hating on them are usually just trying to be angry at something that is really popular, but in this case, this series deserves to be. It's a true experience, and they are good films to boot. The actors they get are always solid, the scares are effective, the tension is second to none in modern horror and the payoffs are ALWAYS worth it.

They could say the story is barely there for any of the previous films, aswell. That's what makes these films so unique in that regard. It's when you connect the films together do you get a "big picture". As far as expanding the mythology, PA4 does explain a couple of things BUT it's going to make A LOT of ppl angry because it leaves even bigger questions than ANY of the other films. I guess that's what I mean when I say it expands the mythology. It begs so many new questions and theories but that's the point of another sequel, no? (Besides the money, obviously lol).

I think PA4 is probably the weakest of the series. It's definitely the funniest but in terms of fear factor it's the weakest.

Anymore cult/witches' coven activity? That's been my favorite addition to the series.

With that whole after credits scene and the question as to why
the demon is just allowing Katie and Hunter to grow up possessed and live
, it seems like the thing may be on some kind of "take over the world" or "destroy the world" kick.
