I think Gotham sort of ruined the character for me. There's also so many wildly different interpretations of the character that I have no idea what route they'd take.

I don't think Jonah Hill is right for Penguin at all. IMO, Penguin needs to be a much older guy, and he needs to only make a cameo. He shouldn't be the Burton Penguin either. I'd rather him be the Arkham Knight Penguin, a sorta classy individual who has his hands in an organized, yet very modern criminal environment. And I'd have Penguin active when the Batman begins his crusade in 1995. So, this is a guy who'd, imo, already be in his 40s in the 90s.

I think Steve Carrell could pull it off, I'm really hoping we see Penguin in the DCEU very soon, I'm really anticipating the villain announcement(s) for the solo Batman movie

I like the Arkham games Penguin, but if they use that as inspiration they should lose the cockney accent.

Paul Giamatti would probably be the best choice for Penguin especially considering in the Spider-Man series he was pretty much wasted as a villain there so why not use him to his full potential here as Penguin?

I loved his bat-**** crazy performance in TASM2... but I was massively disappointed by how criminally underused he was.
I think he could be a bring a lot to the table for Penguin, given his versatility.

I think Jack Black is a great actor when he tries. He'd be perfect.

I could get on board with either of these. I hope WB goes with a version of Penguin that is somewhat like the DeVito version, only more elegant and not hypersexual. Oswald doesn't seem like the most difficult character to translate from the comics, but he's always suffered from stylistic choices that hinder him on screen.

He's the complete opposite of small and fat...
