Looks mean nothing to me. Especially with Penguin. Options include weight gain, prosthetic, camera trickery etc. It doesn't matter if the actor looks like the character or not. You need a really good actor who can embody the character. If the guy is cast and does a great job then that's awesome. Until then..there's 20 actors that can do a better job, whether they look like comic book Cobblepot or not.

Casting based on looks is what's getting the DCEU in trouble (among other things). Cavill, Affleck, Gadot. Better actors for these iconic characters are out there.

I agree, looking like the character means little when thats all there is.
Comic books itself change the look of villains often, they have basic treats but still are unique to every artist...just like in movies.

Eh, yeah there are better actors out there...but i dont think Cavill, Affleck and Gadot are too bad.
Its all in the script, especially cavill has to work with a pretty bad characterization considering he is supposed to be Superman.

The script is the biggest issue but I don't like any of them as actors outside of the DCEU. Affleck only had a few roles to his name that were decent. Not great but decent.

Don't really want to make a long list right now. Better actors would be a good start. If you start there, you have hundreds of options.

That would've been cool, but I'm pretty much ok with who they got for the big 3. Still think Hoechlin is a better Superman than Cavill though, but Cavill hasn't exactly been given the best material.

I am rather skeptical of the Penguin as primary villain, especially in a Batman movie involving a veteran Batman ( like this movie *presumably* would be, unless they decide to go flashback ). He's just. . . not really that awesome a primary villain. He works best, IMO, when he's a secondary figure who more exists at the boundary between "supervillain" and "crime boss", with an emphasis on the latter. That way, he doesn't need to come off as "able to meaningfully threaten the Batman", he just needs to come off as competent and dangerous enough to rule a chunk of the underworld.
