Ok ! There's still some interviews/podcasts with Reeves that I have yet to listened to.
Same for the commented version of the film. Still a little frustrated it's an iTunes exclusive and not on the Blu-Ray...

I think the lack of news regarding Penguin, and the inevitable delay is happening exactly due to Discovery taking over and not the other way around. It was supposed to start filming in June and the whole thing froze since the announcement. Additionally the companion series to Dune was supposed to start filming in September and there have been zero news about that too. JJ Abrams' Demimonde would also start production in the same month, they even cast the lead actress for the show, and it was completely canned. All projects that were at the bring of happening, until Zaslav took over. No one knows for sure what is happening but it kind of have started showing a pattern.

Lack of news? Literally just last week we got updates as to when it is filming and the current state of the project.

That was Farrel saying what he heard, thinks and hopes might happen, and by no means is that a given. I meant an official announcement, cast or crew additions. It's been radio silence on the production aspect.

That's not uncommon at all for these types of shows. I remember that even something like Watchmen had giant chunks of time with zero official news. Some shows don't even announce anything till they shoot like Sandman.

Of course it's not uncommon. But it happening simultaneously in multiple projects at the same company does show a possible motif.

If canceled just take the scripts and turn them into a Penguin comic series not unlike Dano’s Riddler: Year One. Problem solved. Tie-ins rule.

There was no official announcement that it was supposed to start filming in June. Just that one piece in Production Weekly.

Brendan Fraser is one of my choices for the role but I don't know if his experience with Batgirl makes him want to avoid other DC projects. So if that is the case I'd go for actors like Rufus Sewell, Claes Bang, Vince Vaughn or Stephen Dorff.
