The Penguin The Penguin on HBO - General Discussion

Maybe Nashton and Unseen Arkham Prisoner are broadcasting a podcast from Arkham to keep Riddler's following going. :D

Some more observations I posted in another thread but belong here:

We've all noticed this character named "Eve Karlo" in the series annoucement and how this last name could be linked to the villain Clayface.
Thinking about it further, the most famous “Eve” is, in the Bible, the first woman ever created.
And even if it wasn't the case for her, we all know that her husband Adam was made...of clay.

So, could this be a fun little pun for the character being the first "creation" of a future Clayface in that universe?

I guess I'm fine with that. Honestly, HBO could use more original dramas for their Sunday 9 pm slots. I mean, what do they have lined up when House of the Dragon is done for the season? Maybe something else or one of those documentary series, but I'm not opposed to these shows airing on TV or on HBO Max (which is what I'm always going to call it!).

I don’t think we necessarily need another trailer, but I am eager to see what they bring with them to SDCC.

I’d love a new SDCC trailer for Penguin drop with a Bruce Wayne or (even better) Batman reveal. Something to hold us until 2026…

If Pattinson in any way pops up in this show, I think they'll keep him hidden from the marketing.

I could go either way on revealing Batman ahead of time. Of course I could see them trying to keep it under lock and key, but at the same time… the show being confined to Gotham (and specifically following so closely behind the end of the film), I don’t think they can get away with Batman NOT being a factor in this. Even if he’s not the main character or commanding equal time with Penguin, it seems almost certain to me that he’ll be in the mix. So I don’t think it hurts to light up the signal to let some audience members know about it.

And then, in that case, SDCC is definitely the way to go.

If Batman is in this they’ll reveal it early. WB/DC can’t help themselves. They love Batman more than they love their mothers.

Batman puts butts in seats, but at the same time, this has felt so much more like a grounded crime drama that I'd be fine with at least a hint of him. Maybe not a full blown reveal, but even just a far away glance of him.

This is what I'm saying. There's no point in hiding if Batman is in this... so they might as well build up hype at Comic Con.
