Thanks :D

So does anyone here make money off of their photography or is it all just for fun? Curious.

I'm attempting to. made about £15 profit so far by selling some of my images in a local Christian bookshop with various bible quotes and whatnot printed on them in simple frames. Mostly though, i take photos for fun.

Alistair

Whoa! NICE :woot:

Thanks! The last one was a real blast to work with, she was a little more free and fun. I think cause she has shot a little bit before, and this was a warm up again. Trying get her to do a trash the dress which she seemed she was down for. Plus, she tends to do serious and made her do cutesy since it was outta the normal for her.

I love that sunset and picture of the dragon fly as well. Keep it up!

I'm a paid sports photographer :) And I've done pro senior portraits too. However, I'm fairly new to the professional world.

Sweet, I have heard senior portraits are really big in the USA. What kind of sports photography do you do if you don't mind me asking? :)

Not a bad way to start off.

And Alistair, do you mostly do portraiture part-time or other stuff too? :)

I do it for fun, but now I'm starting to set up my website. I want to start earning money, but I have a lot to learn. I joined a photography club(closed for the summer) and I'm doing photographing wedding say course in July.

I'm renting out a studio soon, looking forward it it.:woot:

Yes, that's what I specialize in is portraiture. I've done events, and things like that, but my true passion is what I'm doing now in the photography field. Granted, Modeling is what I'm trying now and it seems okay. I just hope it gets more serious since they know me now and have a little bit of fun with that.

I'm rusty with my cam.

The lighting on this first pic is so natural, very nice shot

So far only 3 of us are on board with the weekly theme idea.

I think the theme thing would be fun.

That is a lovely photo Lobo

Thanks! That is my live in friend and her 2mo daughter. I plan on making them my personal models. :)

Hey guys! fell off the internet and got stuck in the real world for a bit, am not even going to try to look at all the stuff thats been posted since I was last here, but looks like theres tons of cool stuff just on this page to comment on!

Alistair - love those shots with the dark haired girl, I especially like the one that includes her surroundings, with the lights/guy with the reflector in it, she looks like she's having lots of fun!

Lobo - that is such a sweet shot ^-^ such a nice moment to have captured

luna wolf - you were in edinburgh!? awesome, thats near me, its such a great city. Hope you had a nice time.

thalidomide - dragonfly shot = WIN

three from my most recent outing at the local bird of prey/other assorted beasties center. Have been trying to get out to the islands to get wild puffins/sea bird colony/seal shots but the weather is playing havoc with everything atm >.<

Thank you! I did that as a Behind the Scenes shot to show what I'm doing, and how I'm semi doing it I should say. What Equipment I'm using short of the camera.

I agree!

This one does it for me! This is a fantastic detail shot of a profile shot!

Something we are trying to start to keep this thread, and us active. A mini photography club of sorts. Haha.

Otters are hilarious!

+1

Something a little outta of the norm for me, but I thought the detail in the clouds was awesome. Edited in Lightroom 3, well both shots and I've been using it a lot more. I mean used it for a lot, but almost 95% is done in Lightroom as of now (White Balance, Adjustments and all that jazz). Saving for Lightroom 4 upgrade. Oh didn't use flash for any of these and shot all natural.

This is a shot of the Nan Tien Temple in Wollongong, New South Wales.

FYI: Last weekend I held a D300s + battery grip. I saw somebody use the Nikon D4 firsthand. Now I want to buy the D700 before it's completely gone from the shelves.

Hey SaF! Those photos are great! I love the warm tones in them!
