Red Mask: For a film user, I love how smooth everything looks. Keep at it!

I actually have a better one with the cook and the little girl. But it's so good I want to keep it for my professional portfolio. So I can't risk posting it until I can be sure of copyright protection.

SaF: those animal photos are excellent! You have a great eye there!

Evil,

Not bad from that distance. Not at all, and that hot lighting. =P

cheers mate, i'd have loved to get my 60d set up in just for the sheer power of the burst mode, sadly had no chance, settled for the fuji hs20 great zoom, but sadly not the quickest on focus in low light

Once you take the picture, and since your a film user you've have the Neg. It's yours, no matter what unless you sell off the rights.

Hehe. Funny enough I don't even really use burst mode, despite how many people who tell me how to do my job when I take pictures. It's kinda of annoying but I just let it slide; the glass I have doesn't work the best virtually no light either, and that's one thing that bites with the Younguno's...their AF Assist blows!

Love the Sunset here!

Kill me, be jealous but on Tuesday I got to hold a 5DM3 with a 70 to 300L Lens. Wow. I sooooo want one even more now, just for the noise factor alone. Granted 60D does a awesome job, tho!

There is a few picture of a senior I shot last night (All shot bare and one light due to wind):

^ this is a beautiful shot, love it when the water is that flat!

^Wow she must have been happy with these, great work! a post graduation shoot?

My family aren't very tolerant of my photo taking habit, half of them don't like having their photo taken anyway and the other half don't want to wait around while I fiddle with settings! But I think they are coming around to the idea that it eventually makes for better pictures of them all.

^the sky and the sillouette (can't spell) work beautifully together here, great work! I should really try more B+W stuff...

Some shots from last week's trip to colchester zoo. Light was very harsh and contrasty but was still good fun.

The work is not bad, but that last photo you can see the light you used in the frame to the right . . . you should edit that out

one piece of criticism I have is your logo; it's really large and kind of interferes with the composition; as a graphic designer, this is a problem I see a lot of photographers make; they take really spectacular photos but their font choice is amateur, or their logo is too large and overbearing . . . I DO, however like the aperture graphic you used for the "O"; that's a nice touch, but would choose a different font and/or put the logo somewhere more subtle

Here are a couple of my pieces; I punched up the vibrancy and contrast a bit after I shot these . . .

Thanks for your compliment :yay:

I love your shots btw especially that one on top ^^^^ . Hey do you have a flickr or tumblr account?

WoW, all these shots are awesome. Keep up the great work guys and gals!

Yes, it was for her graduation invites and things like that. She was pretty happy! I worked my butt off, as I got them all processed in like one day while running around after my son. Hahaha.

Don't worry my wife and child aren't very tolerant either, but what can ya do? I force 'em and make stupid faces so it's a little more amusing but most of the time I ask them so I can learn a new lighting tech so I can fiddle. Other than that I tend to be pretty fast now.

BTW, fantastic work on that tamarin!

I did, and it was a intentional shot, actually. It was a pull back to see how I was doing it. =D It's not a perfect one, but you get an idea at any rate.

While I would agree with you, but this was so no one would steal my prints for this is what I put up on FB and they hadn't paid me as of yet. I was to lazy to take it out when I put it up here, but thank you other wise! Also, these are straight out of camera and I just did white balance.

I do like these, but I would say when shooting people try to get "Catch lights" in their eyes and watch out for blowing out highlights on the dress, as she melds with it and the boat. No separation of boat and dress I should say. Just take what I said with a grain of salt! =)

I hate flower shots, but for some reason I really like this. Don't ask me why, I think it's the shading of it. Good work.

Thanks! those are actually some decent tips; especially catching the light in the eye; that would've brought another level of depth by catching that "glimmer"

I hear you on the loss of the dress details . . . I wanted to go for a over-stylized "Hype Williams" kind of feel and everyone thinks this is on a yacht! LOL it's actually the Milwaukee Art Museum . . . the same building they used in Transformers 3 for the headquarters that rich villain guy had

great shot. does the tiger only have one eye?

Yeah he does have one eye! This is Edinburgh Zoo's resident male sumatran tiger Tibor. He had his right eye removed in June 2010. When he was a cub in a german zoo his eye was injured while fighting, and it deteriorated after his transfer to scotland, his eye filled up with blood and infection, swelled up causing him pain and he lost the sight in it, so they removed it. He's absolutely fine now, leaps around like any other big cat.

what he used to look like before the operation... you can see the right eye is discoloured with blood and just looks wrong:

what tiger eyes should look like! (This is his sister, who also used to be at Ed. zoo but just got transfered to europe to breed)

Thalidomide - thanks! no I don't have a flickr or tumblr account, no flickr because of their dodgy terms of use and just never got into tumblr, or red bubble or anything like that. The only thing I have is a deviant art account, http://shadow-and-flame-86.deviantart.com/gallery/ which is for fun. I don't do photography as my job so I don't take it too seriously online!

I really like the flower shot too, the light is gorgeous in it! The tropical shots are pretty too, where were these taken? It reminds me of being in the caribean islands =)

Alistair - thanks! they were pretty hyper, was fun trying to get a shot of them inbetween all the jumping around. Below is an example of my limited portrait work, the shot of my sister shows the typical reaction to me taking photos of them (mix of disapproval/irritation), I have much better luck with the family members that are to young to protest!

I know the shot of my sis is dark, but it was taken at the same time as this sunset so not much light around!

Midnight sun - hehe close ups are fun, goats have such creepy horizontal pupils! Nice and sharp, but the comp could be worked on. I've tried shots like this and its tough to get them framed nicely, mebbe if you cropped out the top with the bit of green it, or made the shot square?

DV8 - I would agree with what Alistair said about blowing the whites, this might have happened because you are putting up the contrast. I know that this means all your water splashes are correctly exposed and look amazing, its a tough call in this shot as the splashes look great, but for the other one without the water I would have tried to get more definition between the building/dress too. I'd also be careful of playing with the vibrancy too much, the shadows in this shot on her dress have gone blue which is very distracting to me.

I like the shots comps though, was this a model and a proper shoot that you set up? I wish I could do that!

How's this one? I overlayed a layer of the image to give it a darker tone and then desaturated it.
