I cannot wait until these debates. John McCain has shown in the past that he is a little lax on his debate skills. And Sarah Palin's ignorance of most of the major issues affecting this country is going to rub off quite nicely, especially since she'll be up against one of the longest-serving senators in the country.

I was worried for a while that McCain would pick Romney as his running mate, only because Romney can be just as biting and blunt as Biden. But I don't think Palin has what it takes to beat Biden at all. She's going to stumble over herself, and I'm going to laugh as the worst VP choice in American politics proves herself worthy of that title.

Yeah, she might have Biden on that one. Sheesh...I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting worried. I mean...this thing is going to be on prime time television, right? He's going to look like an idiot. Palin is probably the second most knowledgable Republican when it comes to the cold things in life and recreation - only a mite behind the governor of California, I'll bet.

I watched a vid on youtube where a guy, perfectly straight faced and serious, said that Alaska is next to two countries (Canada and Russia) so she probably has more foreign policy experience than both Biden and Obama

Ohh...well I saw a conversation on FOX News that suggested the same thing. They said that she 'lived in Alaska, which is very close to Russia, so she's got experience.'

Wait a minute! That's it! She really DOES have foreign policy experience! Given her geographic location to Russia and Canada, coupled with the fact that she has refused negotiation with the polar bears...we've figured it out folks!

Apparently you missed his speech on thursday.

He was responding to my post, and I certainly did see his DNC speech. While he did say some things I wholeheartedly agree with, and while he is a great speaker, his speech still lacked substance.

He can't cut taxes on 95% of the population because 30% already pay NO taxes whatsoever. He's going to spend 150 billion dollars and get us completely off foreign oil dependence, but he won't say how. (And considering every expert out there says it's not possible, Obama is beginning to sound like just another politician who will say anything and make any promise to get elected; ie politics as usual from someone who claims to be different.) He claims he was right about Iraq because they now want a timeline, but he fails to state that the only reason Iraq is calling for a timeline is because of the very surge he was opposed to, and he should exercise a bit more character and give McCain credit, since it was McCain who was solely responsible for getting this administration to finally get it done.

The man seems capable. He seems intelligent. So far, however, he hasn't shown the American people jack except for a pretty face and a lot of non-specific promises.
