I never read the book, but i plan to after seeing the amazing trailer!, so i have a question. Are Scarlette and Piper there wives? n r there roles big? Does Piper die? it looked like she drownd in the trailer. gosh i hope not...
Well Scarlette (Olivia) is neither's wife, but I wont go further into what she is

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the trailer says "a friendship becomes a rivalry" but they were never friends in the book
dramatic licence,it makes the ensuing rivalry more emotional for the audience

Well, it is your opinion, but how can you deslike trailer which has everything like: story, excellent and mysterious music, perfect editing, great dialogues and monologue, one of the best casts and awesome vissual effects?
you got all that from the trailer? ... i didnt say dislike, i like the trailer, just dont think it's awesome like most of you guys seem to do, its the same reaction i had when i saw the Fountain trailer too.

Scarlette acts Angier's (Hackman's) lover, who
then becomes Bale's lover

Piper acts Angier's wife, who
won't die

Oh I agree, I was just trying to make sure I was right about the lack of friendship in the novel

Oh, now I can understand you. I loved The Prestige and The Fountain trailer, but if you dont like The Fountain trailer, then you'll most likely not like The Prestige's trailer.

Looks pretty good, though I didn't necessarily think it looked amazing. I'll definately see it though... with such a stellar cast, how could I not?

Intersting, will they show
Borden's and Angiere's prestiges (copies of them)
?

Spoiler maybe?

...I forgot I had to put that in a spoiler too...

David Bowie is practically unrecognizable as Nikola Telsa in the flick:

Whoa, I never would have guessed that was him.

Definitely excited to see the film, and I might buy the book later so...

Yeah, I didn't realize it until the fifth or sixth viewing of the trailer.

probably the damn coolest thing i've seen all year....next to Casino Royale. Those are my 2 most anticipated films of the year. I've been meaning to buy The Prestige but never get around to it. I hear alot of good things, except about the ending. But i'll check it out nonetheless. Next week or so.

Mine would have to be 'The Prestige' and 'The Fountain' both, coincidentally, big Jackman projects.

This looks really cool and I am now quite excited.

The Fountain sounds and looks interesting. I want to read the graphic novel adaptation of it. it looks cool.

I think we can expect one more trailer in September.

And I also think that The prestige and The Fountain will be Oscar's favorites.

One of them will get Oscar Award for The Best Motion Picture, while another will have The Best Director.

Both will get award for screenplay (The Prestige as adaptation and The Fountain as original).

P.S. I didn't notice Bowie
