Bale is the almighty! Better get used to saying that, cause he deserves some sort of mass accolades or award treatment with this film...

RedIsNotBlue said:Well it is mainly about obsession and jealousy and how it affects these magicians lives and the people around them. Is that what your asking?
vibeke_T said:this movie is probably more deep...more than obsession...more about the games we play with ourselves.
I agree. The movie was basically about obsession and the horrible things that some are driven to do because of it. Since the premise was pretty basic, the execution had to be spot on, and IMHO it definitely was spot on. Nolan typically has movies with one or two themes, but always has a radical way of approaching the characterization. (Admit it, Memento would have been pretty damn boring if it weren't shown in pieces backwards, and the flip-flop in time was absolutely necessary to put the audience into the main character's POV.)Leto Atrides said:Everything comes back to obsession. That's what drives them. A movie doesn't need a bunch of themes to be deep, it explores the ones it has thoroughly.

"It's really quite obvious once you know how it's done" or something like that.
