Kratos

Me and a friend of mine had a discussion about this. Both games are quite the stuff. Exciting fight scenes, great storylines, but even greater characters.

I'm in favor of the Prince because he doesn't just need brute force to win his battles, he also uses wits (and having the ability to manipulate time is always a plus). Most would say that Kratos could easily rip the Prince apart, but let's remember, said Prince has defeated the Dahaka, whom I count just as powerful as Kratos (as both symbolize death in a way).

Now if you can beat death, you can beat anything. But that's just me. What about you?

Kratos has beat death as well. The guy defeated a god. Not just any god, but the god of war. I prefer him to the Prince

This could become a bit of a stalemate. Kratos would take the Prince down, the Prince rewinds time, and Kratos takes him down again. Times infinite.

^ LOL.

Kratos is the best. He's going to kill all the gods in GOW3

Prince is extremely powerful. All he has to do is slow down time and tear kratos a new one

Kratos can slow down/stop time as well, using the Amulet of the fates. :p

Now that I think about it....wouldn't a POP meets GOW game be incredible? Especially after the film "300" was just made? Here we have a Persian VS a Spartan.

That'd be great.

I prefer the Prince.
He's got to be one of my favorite Video Game heroes, next to Link and Wander.
I like Kratos, but the Prince is my choice.
In a battle, he would also win.
He's much more agile and nimble than Kratos, and he has the Sands and Dagger of Time.

Kratos would bend the Prince over and ride his ass to Hades and back.

Power, Technique and Speed, against Speed. and the Prince has a girly haircut.

Kratos is actually pretty fast, he would just totally rape the Prince until there was no sand left.

God > Not a God.

I'm actually playing through the POP games for the first time now, I'm on the first one, and it's kinda cool but the sequels look better. I picked all three up for ten bucks :D

nice find

The Prince is the "Faceman" to Kratos' "B.A Baracus" nuff sed.

^

The Prince of Persia trilogy has been on offer for £10 for a while now at selected places. I was contemplating getting it myself, but I'm not sure if it's really my thing or not.

What sold me is 3 games for ten bucks :D It's worth it in the end, and you can always trade it in at game if you don't like it...

The first is decent but I'm sure the others will be even better.

The second sucks. They tried to "kratos up" the Prince, with making him a selfish murderous bastard who doesn't care for anybody.

Then, the third one however kicks unhealthy amoundts of booty.

"Kratos up"? Nah, if memory serves Warrior Within came out earlier than GoW while Dave was still thinking which mechanics he could rip off from PoP by adding senseless amounts of violence. Still, though I disliked the character change, I really loved the voice of the Prince in WW, not too mention the kickass Persian rock.

This is pointless to debate really. Firstly, the Prince isn't a combat based character, he's a platformer, an acrobat, a thinker. Unlike Kratos who was played from start by the Gods, the Prince was played once by the "Vizier" and that haunted him two games later. The Prince is intelligent, charismatic and hell, he gets the girls through hard freakin' work not cheap hos' lying all about Ancient Greece. And as far as the "Gods" are concerned and I swear this was the debate between my Muslim buddy and me who tends to go a little far:

sandwraith: But Kratos has the power of the Gods!

Muslim Extremist-to-be: But the Prince has the power of Allah!

'Nuff said.

COmbat wise, yeah, Kratos would "rape" anyone whose name isn't Master Chief (guns and all) considering he's probably one of the best combat game characters around but a fight on a thin wooden plank? Yeah, I'd love to see Kratos "double jump" into action.

I liked the third one too Gry but if you've played and mastered the Prince in the first two, the third one becomes surprisingly short. I didn't like the Speed Kills much either, that felt GoW-ish except for the kickass double speed kills. Wasn't too crazy about the Dark Prince too

By "Kratosing up" I've meant making him a mean, brutal "badass". Everything that Kratos is. That's his appeal. I know GOW was nowhere to be found in that time

Kratos...that guy is nuts and is just fueled by anger.......he has the titans as allies.....god slayer....the prince stands no chance.....

Er your muslim friend's wrong on that one....I don't think the persians were islamic primarily untill persia became Iran. I'm not positive though...

I think 300 proved that Spartans>Persians.:o

...Kratos would **** him up. :D I think both characters are great but for entirely different reasons. The Prince is an acrobat and stealthy fighter. He's great against regular folk but...let's put him up against The Hydra. Not pretty. Kratos is just raw power and just as agile, if not more, than The Prince...Thanks to the sands of time, The Prince probably will put up a fair fight though. Kratos needs those statues for that ability.

Not to mention that Kratos has beaten the God of War himself and took his throne from him...You're jus not going to beat the guy unless you're a god yourself...Maybe the Prince can face off against Hermes or something and steal his power. Maybe he'd have a chance then. :D

You guys missed the point for 300. Think about it, how did one-eyed Spartan guy (I'll call him Faramir for short), how did Faramir know the final moments of the battle? How did he know that Leonidas dropped his helmet, his shield, his spear blah blah blah then the Spartans got slaughtered? Easy, he made it up. Propaganda. And you fell for it!

PERSIA!!!!!!!!!

Besides the Persians were Muslims shortly after the Rise of Islam. The Nastaliq calligraphy used in the Prince of Persia game hints some Islamic elements. Persia only entered India during its Islamic dynasty.

Kratos has killed gods, and ripped the eye out of Cyclops.
