Just came from seeing it. Holy s#%&! Amazing movie. Top tier action movie for sure.

Just a few thoughts:

Maybe I need to rewatch it but the movie felt inconcluse to me. They havent even touched on the dirty cops issue yet. I thought the whole point was to discover corrupt policemen dealing with the mob but that was forgotten for a gang war movie so that made Rama going undercover seem basically pointless.

Also, if The Raid 3 starts a few hours before the ending of this one, will they branch to another character and leave Rama's fate up to the audiences' imagination? Or will they elaborate on how he's going to get out of that seemingly unescapable situation?

Another thing, I was really pissed they killed off Rama's brother just like that at the beginning of the movie. Man, I thought they were buliding them up to be two brothers working on opposite sides of the law.

The Raid 3 may start before Raid 2's ending but that could also mean it progresses beyond Raid 2's ending as well. As Emiya mentioned, we still have to see the exposure of id'ing the dirty cops.

Yeah I'm seeing it this Friday lol

In other news, I rewatched The Raid and boy it still holds up. I almost forgot about the tapes Rama received from his brother.

The purpose of Rama being undercover [BLACKOUT]was to root out the dirty cops. And they needed to do that by catching Reza. But it might have gone to s**t with him being killed.[/BLACKOUT]

I loved the Bolivian Army Ending and I thought it could have been a great definitive finale if not for the fact that the issue with the dirty cops still needs to be solved. That's what I thought the movie felt inconcluse. Though I don't know how they're going to make Rama escape that situation without seeming too farfetched.

By the way, I absolutely love the way this movie was filmed. Evans is not just a good action director, he's a good director overall. Some shots were beautiful to look at, and I'm not even talking about the action scenes. Evans shows confidence in quieter dramatic moments and knows how to build up the tension nicely.

Yeah Kane The Raid holds up very well and the end also drops the names of Reza and Bunawar too. He definitely had the sequel in mind.

Just called my theater to see if they will have a late Thursday showing. They said yes Rio 2 will have an 830 showing.

I want to waste all the time playing this!!!!

Well my theater put up times and no late Thursday showing. Oh well I'm just happy I'm getting it.

Turns out my theater is playing it afterall! Looks like I don't have to drive too far.

I have never seen a movie like Raid 2.

I need to take a moment, just wow.

I loved this movie, i'm still amazed by it.

What i love about the movie is that it's so different from the 1st, since the 1st movie was survival in the building, this is the whole city going all out war.

I liked all the characters, even tho they aren't fleshed out or anything, but you get the cool archtypes and ideas where these characters come from. Hammer Girl for example was the most interesting one, i'd love to learn her origin.

Hammer Girl for example was the most interesting one, i'd love to learn her origin.

Comic book spin off (prequel) on Baseball Bat man and Hammer girl is in the works.

The director (also writer) talks about their back story all the time.

"And the backstory for Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Boy was like this- so every night, their father would sit them down at a small table and pull out this coin that he would spin on the table. And for whichever side the coin landed on that particular evening, that was the child he would then beat that night. So that coin represented pain. One fateful night, it was Hammer Girl’s turn to get beat but Baseball Bat Boy flipped it over to his side so that he could take the punishment. Their father went kind of nuts and beat them both so severely that he damages her eye in the process and they, in turn, find strength together and beat their father to death after that. So that’s just their origin story and all the characters in the movie had these kinds of stories too. Maybe we’ll do an origins comic book for these guys though; I think that could be fun."

For me... I want to know Eka's origins. But I guess it'll be too much of a spoiler, if Evans spills that even before the film's wide release.
