Two films w/Sabertooth and still no CLEAR indication of his mutant abilities..?

They DIRECTLY showed Gambit charging the cards; they didn't Show Saberttoth healing in either movie. For we know, he could have had some kinda superhuman durability. It doesn't bother me, but it's just that i've been asked about it my non-comic book, general audience type movie goers. Blob wasn't such a major character in this film, so who cares but Victor was....

Unless you're blind, I don't see how you couldn't understand what Creed's powers were.

yes it was delivered by wolverine but they were both strapped to the posts upon gunfire

I laways knew his powers so i never bothered to notice how well they stated his powers. I could see x-1 not being clear but I thought wolverine showed them enough for anyone to understand. a casual viewer might just believe that x-men just cant die , lol

also when stryker said the procedure wont work on you victor he said"We Are The Same" or something i thought that made it clear aswell

Comic book characters never die. It used to be that Bucky was the only character who has stayed dead but even he's come back.

I don't get why some people seem to think that every mutant has to have some kind of explanation of his/her powers written into the movie. Like Gambit for example: No, they don't tell you exactly what his powers are. But you can see that he can blow stuff up and knocks people through walls. Obviously he uses some kind of energy or something to blow stuff up/away. We don't need a pseudo-scientific explanation. It would be awkward. Same with Sabertooth. That's my two cents.

yeah but no ones really complaining about gambit needing an explanation. just like cyke doesnt really need one. it was pretty odd that blob had such a weird transformation.

although i think i kind of like his "new power" of durability, rather than not setting up some weird gravitational thing that cant knock him down. that would be even harder to explain in the movie!

He lived passed his natural life span, never showed signs of aging and survived execution just like logan. So he definitely had healing powers, but even with Wolverine, we didn't see as much healing as the other films.

However, like the original poster, after X1's release I had several people ask me what Sabretooth's powers were. About a year ago on this forum, I made the arguement that Sabretooth's powers weren't properly displayed and perhaps he wasn't intended to have a healing factor, characters have been changed in the movies. That's why he doesn't appear again, and why perhaps Victor Creed is so different from Sabretooth in X1.

Posters laughed and said that was a stupid idea, which is why it's interesting you bring it up now after XOW has been released and there is no clear explaination for the link between Liev's and Mane's "Sabretooth".

I think the hospital scene was enough to show Wolverine had healing powers. They also show him heal some other wounds. Plus his bone claws grew back.

right...I know that...the point is they didn't show as much CGI healing as in the other movies. They were saving money by letting our memories and dvd purchases of X1-3 do the work for them.

im still a lil disapointed Sabertooth never called him "runt" like he always did in the comics but hey i do agree it would have been cool to show sum more of his powers not just know he has them too because such and such... you forget that we're fans and wanna see these things! :)

they should have a true comic book expert produce a superhero movie, not somebody who only cares about production budget, running time, and the amount of profit they can make

Seriously!! if it were me id be like, No No No No!!! this is all wrong!! Wolverines blades do not come out from between his knuckles!! most bothering thing is that as a comic book movie you would think they would stay in line with certain things... yes they make the movies for more of a general audience, but still its a comic book movie... meaning it was popular because of US!!! the comic fans.. they wouldnt make comic movies if we werent making their comics and charecters popular to begin with... so i mean if it aint broke y fix it?? lol does anyone from Marvel ever go to any of the filming sets to see wtf their doing?? sheesh...
would ppl be bothered if they made Kryptonite purple and changed Supermans suit to make it more appealing in the movies ??

I think a 'general audience' person would find it hard to figure out wat Victor's powers are because they are the SAME powers as Logan. And to them, everyone in an X-men movie has a DIFFERENT power. Thats an explanation i can think of

They showed that Jean and Prof. X both had telepathy though.

Thats because, unlike the comics, Wolverine was as tall as he was.

LOL, funny. :p

Well in both films, he very obviously has superhuman strength, and in Wolverine he obviously has growing claws and a healing factor similar to Wolverine's.

Superhuman strength, claws, fangs, and a healing factor are about it...

As others have said, they showcase his agility, healing ability, claws, and strength, but the one thing they haven't shown at all in him (or very well in Wolverine for that matter) is the heightened animal senses. The super-hearing, sense of smell, better eyesight, ect.

they didn't show him directly using it, but, he did seem to be good at tracking people down, probably using those abilities

Before the bar fight, he hears Wolverine screaming "Victor!" before the other people do.
