I had a friends ask me after seeing X1, what Sabertooth's mutant abilities were. After explaining them to her she said o.k, cause really in X1 you have to kinda guess what they are.

Now in Wolverine we get the same deal. I mean it's obvious this film was made moreso for the general audience who have limited exposure to the X-Men universe outside the movies; and we know Victor and Wolverine are brothers, but again, i had another person ask me what his mutant abilities are.....

....my question is, why can't the film makers show it? All we need is a quick shot of his face being wounded and it healing...that's it. They constantly do it for Logan...hell, even Deathstrike got the 'healing shot'. Why on earth after two films can't we get one for Sabes...?

Well, they could have done so, maybe should have, but I think they made enough effort to parallel the 2 (woverine and creed) to show they had the same powers, just with Creed being a little stronger (in the beginning). I mean, they were both shot, Wolverine stabbed him quite often, and Creed showed very little after-effects...

I prefer to ignore X1 Sabretooth.

Um...I hated Wolverine, but it very clearly showed that Sabretooth has claws that grow a bit, and a healing factor. That is VERY obvious from the film.

Kinda just repeating but his powers are shown.

He has a healing factor since he and Wolverine have lived for almost 100 years and survived a firing squad. He has nails which he can extend and are made of a very strong material. He also has superhuman agility similar to Beast.

I just forget about X1. After this movie, that was just a human-wookiee hybrid.

In X-Men 1 he has the power go growl and in Wolverine he has the power of a sadistic grin. I thought that was obvious

I'd say getting stabbed repeatedly in Origins, kinda shows that he can heal.

I think the firing squad scene suggests he and Wolverine both have healing factors.

Liev Schrieber was the best part of Wolverine, I thought his abilities were explained reasonably well.

i disagree i think they coulda shown a bit more how they have the same exact feral senses and abilities minus Logans adamantium.. they coulda shown Creed sniffing down his prey and a heal scene woulda not been too bad either lol

He was shot in the head and the next scene was fine. If you cant figure out that that shows a healing factor then Im not sure yu and I need to be watching same level of films...I think Pixar has something coming out for you soon.

My friend asked me the same question in the Wolverine theater...
he claims he watches the animated series when he was a kid and has this impression that Sabe is just a human that looks like a lion. So he was shocked when Sabe could heal and stuff.

For me, i assumed the film makers didnt want to reveal Sabe's powers.. until the first fight with Wolvy, where they obviously healed alot

why the need for insults?? me as a fan i know so im not so much bothered by it but of course its cool to see.. and i would just think as a X-men movie ESPECIALLY Wolverine that you would wanna emphasize mutant powers not allude to it...

The director of this movie is a joke... smh

"Wait, that guy is Wolverines brother and has lived for centuries and been in countless wars...and now he just got executed by firing squad but seems fine without even a scratch and his fingernails are really long and grow when he attacks people...I dont understand what his powers are"

Those people are morons, plain and simple.

I cant believe Im defending this film..

Cool f/x is the draw of this movie. Showcasing Sabes healing factor would have been cool, if only done once. It didnt bother me 'cause i've read the comics, seen the cartoon,etc...but like i said, this movie was made moreseo for the general public, who aren't that well versed on each of the charatcers powers.

I still can't articulate what Blobs powers were supposed to be in this movie, or what the general public assumed they were either................

If a guy sticks his arm in a tank which fires at it and his arm is ok, obviously he has superhuman resilience. Are people really that stupid where they need a "This character is (name) and his powers are...." ?

The Blob character was raped from the getggo. The Blob was never a average sized guy, who developed an eating disorder.:whatever: And yes, for the general public, most of whom have never pick up a comic in their life, spelling it out for them IS kinda needed. For those of us who are familiar with the X-Verse it may feel like it's spelling out the obvious, but when these film makers are introducing new characters, to people who have neither never heard The name 'Blob' notrknow what he's about then that's exactly what's needed.

For all we know , by the scene you describe, people would assume that Blob could have also had a healing factor, but that's not the case.....

My dad doesn't have any knowledge of the but he could tell what his powers were.

Really, a guy sticks his arm in a tank and removes it unscathed. It should be obvious that he's got some type of superhuman durability. If people are that stupid that they don't get it, they should make it like the Coyote and Road Runner cartoons where it'd freeze, say their name and fake latin name.

why show it more the audience is'nt stupid please dont insult our intelligence we dont need to get beat over the head with it

I don't get why some people seem to think that every mutant has to have some kind of explanation of his/her powers written into the movie. Like Gambit for example: No, they don't tell you exactly what his powers are. But you can see that he can blow stuff up and knocks people through walls. Obviously he uses some kind of energy or something to blow stuff up/away. We don't need a pseudo-scientific explanation. It would be awkward. Same with Sabertooth. That's my two cents.

They DIRECTLY showed Gambit charging the cards; they didn't Show Sabertooth healing in either movie. For all we know, he could have had some kinda superhuman durability. It doesn't bother me, but it's just that i've been asked about it by non-comic book, general audience type movie goers. Blob wasn't such a major character in this film, so who cares but Victor was....
