Say what you will about the TASM films, but this moment was adapted so flawlessly. Andrew's delivery at the end is so heartbreaking.
And that's not even counting the numerous attempts at getting a live-action Spider-Man movie underway before the millennium.
I remember back in 2010 Logan Lerman was tipped to be the new Spidey. I really think he could have been good in the role, I think he would have been like a mix between Holland and Garfield.
He prayed to God and the devil answered.
Great scene.
It's pretty terrible.
Especially since in the comics, Eddie was praying to God for forgiveness because he contemplated suicide and he was a devout catholic.
It was a very human moment. Eddie felt like a real person.
The irony and subtext is what makes the scene great. Exploring Eddie's Christianity wasn't necessary in this iteration.
Then why even bother including the church scene if his Christianity wasn't necessary?
The idea of a grown man praying to God to take another man's life is so laughable and cringe worthy.
It's just bad writing.
Because he was told too. We didn't need to explore any potential upbringing of Eddie's faith when it was all condensed into this.

So Peter told him to seek forgiveness through religion and Eddie decided to ask God to murder someone? LOL
That is so hilariously stupid!
It makes Eddie look like a complete imbecile. Does he actually believe God will strike Peter down because he asked for it.
It's a **** scene and it was done MUCH better in the comics, with far more maturity and poise.
