I highly doubt she's playing MJ.

They JUST announced very publically that the MJ character was being cut out of the movie COMPLETELY because of "story reasons," so I'm really doubting it... sounds like geek websites just trying to make up some kind of gossip.

she confirmed herself that she's joining the franchise, and i don't think anyone is thinking she'll be in tasm2, since they're almost finished shooting, so if she is mj, she still won't be in this next one, only from 3 on.

the confirmation alone doesn't, but it coming with all of the mj news suggests it. plus, the info that she is playing mj first came from the website that revealed some big spoilers today, with pictures and everything, and that have been confirmed by a user here who worked as an extra in the film, so all of that adds up.

To make it so that her agent doesn't book her for something that would prevent them from using her her when the time comes, especially if she's the person they really want to replace Woodley.

But if the choice was swayed by fanboy outcry for a hotter MJ I hope Shailene has a thick hide and won't let it get to her. She's pretty. just not who I'd go with for MJ. and yeah, looks would play a part in that decision, if I were running the show.
