This system kicked so much ass... I loved it for all the terrific sports games and it had by far the best series of beat em up games in the form of Streets of Rage... nothing can ever top the Streets of Rage series, Gunstar Heroes and all these other fantastic sports games many of which EA produced despite their crap record now

Who else used to own one of these? Mine is 16 years old and still brilliantly running, it's a tad slower but it's seriously working as if it's new... it's just such a bloody brilliantly engineered piece of kick ass video gaming tech.

then it can be moved to games

still doesn't take away from the fact that the Sega Genesis was such a brilliant system... and the leap in graphics from nintendo to it is much better than any of the leaps made between PS 2 and PS 3 thus far... was really disappointed from the E3 showings

What was that game where you got to be this green ghost with a mohawk, and you had to scare people. I freaking loved that game.

SEGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The system rox. I gots a Ren and Stimpy game for mine :p

hey what was that one game with that green retro robot? he shot light out of his hands it was a futuristic game. it was something man. yeah i used to play that all the time

I never got past that level where you have to ride stimpy like a hot air balloon through all these prickley bushes..

i started off with regular nintendo, then moved to the genesis. i haven't bought a system since, although i prefer the oldschool. :)

I never got past the bike ride :p I do better with rpg's :p

I still have both Genesis and SNES systems in like new condition (the SNES isn't discolored at all).

photo Jones... TOE JAM AND EARL is so bad ass... I remember that game, I LOVED playing it... can you imagine what'd it be like if they made a proper Toe Jam and Earl game today for like X-box 360. The graphics back then for it rocked, the story was great and I loved how the game worked overall... the story, levels, powers you could have, it was hilarious

you could unleash farts, burps, pick up these really neat rocket roller skates.. everything was so wacky and cool.

Bat attack what games did you have for both genesis and SNES??

Was it Vectorman?

I got a Sega for free once, but the whole board smelled fried..........and some kid had shoved crayons in it. :(

Needless to say I went and got another one :p

I own a genesis and a dreamcast
SEGA should make consoles again :(

SEGA is the last system I really enjoyed. The only other game I've liked since then was Final Fantasy 8 (7 was okay).

But I really liked all the Mortal Kombat games. Those were good. comics Zone was great, and of coarse all the Sonic games. The 2 X-Men games were great. But my favorate Sega games of all time were Shining Force and Shining Force II. I have those on my computer right now actually.

Did anyone besides me have the Sega Channel? I was always the kid who got everything after the new thing already came out, and I always got the off brands... but that was one thing that I always had that all my snobby neigbors never had. It was so cool!

What's Sega Channel?

It was awsome. You can change the tv to a certain channel and there would be a menu listing differant types of games (sports, action, family, rpg, etc) and in each of those would be a bunch of that type of game listed (I think the total was 50 games). You can play any of those games as much as you want, and then on the first of the month the games change and you have 50 more to play. You could even save the savable games, but if you played anything else after that you lost it. Oh it was cool. After we got that I don't think we bought another game on our own.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I loved Jurassic Park too.

The SNES and the Genesis were mortal enemies. You can't love them both in one thread.

basically: SNES=Goku and Genesis=Vegeta

I liked Vectorman, Primal Rage, Sonic, some Disney game, and NCAA football National Championship.

Those boxes they came in were so cool.

Sega all the way!!! (though that's just because I never had a SNES. I probably would have liked it more if I had it).

Another great game memory.... Spiderman: Maximum Carnage!
