Animation The Simpsons Movie 2

You can say Julie Kavner. We're all thinking Julie Kavner!

I know other actors have aged and their voices for the characters have changed, much like with South Park, but hearing Marge as of recent is painful.
Yeah, I said it before in this thread that Julie Kavner's the one whose voice has changed the most since Marge now sounds closer to Patty and Selma. But really with the exceptions of Yeardley Smith and maybe Hank Azaria, all of the voice actors sound pretty worn.

Funny enough, Harry Shearer is missing from that video but given he's the oldest of the cast his voice is naturally not where it used to be either, but it's not really as noticeable with a character like Mr. Burns who's supposed to sound old and decrepit anyway.

The cast will never retire. It's an easy, extremely well paid gig they can literally do in their sleep these days.

I don't mind Kavner's deeper voice for Marge (we all age!) as she still gives GREAT and often emotional performances.

Yeah, but the characters aren't supposed to. Marge is technically supposed to be in her late thirties. I'm totally fine with the cast hanging on to their jobs, the bigger thing is that the show probably should have ended years, if not decades ago.

Look at the streaming numbers that the King of the Hill revival pulled in for Hulu after going away for 15 years. That's what The Simpsons should have done. They still could have had the theme park attraction but the first movie could have acted as a finale of sorts with maybe a couple more movies and a revival season down the line to keep the franchise going without it becoming run down. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

With how Marge sounds now, you'd think she was much of a chain-smoker as Patty and Selma, which is ironic since Kavner voices all three and I have no idea how those two sound as of recent.

What if they do the same animation style like The Peanuts movie?

Lisa sounds almost the same. Homer sounds like his voice has gotten lower and softer. Moe sounds more hoarse and lower. Bart sounds lower. Marge sounds hoarse and low.

What's funny is Disney could probably use this to showcase new VAs for the characters. But it's not like they're soul sucking capitalists... Right?

Yeah, it’s not so much that Kavner’s voice sounds deeper now as much as it sounds like her vocal cords are hanging by a thread.

35-ish years of that Marge voice sounds like it’s wearing her out.

It would be interesting if they went all out with the animation, if only because current episodes of the show has more advanced animation than the first movie did so it would be cool to see them pull out all the stops for this but they probably won't.

The Simpsons should have ended many many MANY years ago. The first ten seasons were peak. The episodes actually had something to say as well as being really funny.
