This is so ****ing stupid, it hurts.

The news. I did not see this until you made the thread. I am honestly dumbfounded. Who is going to buy these exactly?

Did you just read the headline ? Don't get me wrong this is still stupid as hell but

Sony will instead make these “edited for content” versions available at no additional charge as one of the “extras” included with the theatrical version of the films that are part of the program, purchased on iTunes, VUDU, and FandangoNOW.

Did not see that bit. I still don't know what they are for.

Also what was said that was bad in the first two Ghostbusters movies ? It's the twinkie scene in the first one isnt it ? Please no not the twinkie scene Sony

I made the thread as this is the latest in a long, long line of bad ideas that Sony Pictures has made. Such as:

* Canceling Genndy Tartakovsky's Popeye CGI movie and Lauren Faust's Medusa in favor of the Emoji Movie.
* Their bloated plans for a cinematic universe centered around JUST SPIDER-MAN.
* The entire debacle of The Interview and the hacker incident.
* Canceling GhostBusters 3 as it was just gearing up for production in favor of the reboot; they were planning to go ahead with Ramis' script as is, just with Egon written out.

No mention of The Dark Tower ? & supposedly He-Man without Skeletor ? & lets not forget Teenage Nathan Drake & oh they tried making Amy Schumer Barbie

Its a comedy gold mine. It'll be like those cable TV showings of movies where they don't even try to hide their censors changing the four-letter words.

*

I got a feeling the Dark Tower will be their most egregious sin. Saying that as a Tower Junkie.

Cancelling Popeye was good actually because it enabled Genndy to finally finish Samurai Jack. I also didn't really want to see his Popeye movie either.

Too bad Genndy kinda fumbled the ending.

Meh. We got an ending at least. That's what I wanted. But again, is a new animated Popeye movie really a good thing? It didn't work out well for The Smurfs.

Y'know... I was kinda on board with a little Spider-Verse...

But then they announced an Aunt May movie, and I realized they didn't know what they were talking about at all.

On the hands of people who actually care about what they're making (helps that Genndy had previous experience in animation), I could have seen it turning out pretty decent at least.

But yeah, still kinda glad it didn't go through since we got Samurai Jack's final season.

An Aunt May movie? Seriously? First time I heard of this.

The worst major film studio in the world today.

I don't understand why this is even an issue. The actual news in the article, I mean.
