The Sopranos Final Nine

Wow...for Chris to go like that...Did Tony kill him out of mercy or kill him because he was drugged out and siding with Phil? At any rate...wow. You watch this show, you watch practically any mob movie...and you see someone get whacked and its I dunno...just TV...but this episode was just so damn real. Wow.

Also, I'm beginning to wonder if Dr. Melfi will be instrumental in bringing Tony down. She has told him several times she cannot be told of his criminal activity and yet he was getting dangerously close tonight while talking about Adrianna. Hmm...

Last nights episode was awesome. I've been hearing a lot of interesting rumors about what's going to happen in the next three episdodes like:

-AJ attempting or even commiting suicide
-Phil mistakingly shooting AJ or Meadow in Tony's escalade making a war more plausible between NY and NJ
-Bobby getting killed at the train station where the "Blue Coment" once operated
-Uncle Junior dying by either natural causes or even west nile virus.

definatly can't wait for next week and June 10 can't come sooner!

He killed Chris because of what Chris said "I'll never pass a drug test." Tony has been saying all season how weak Chris is.... Im assuming he thought if the Feds got a hold of him he would talk.

Also the song leading up to the crash "Comfortably Numb" played a huge part. Tony kept looking at Chris before the crash, he knew he was high again. He kept looking at Chris and thinking about the dreams he had for Chris and how he screwed them all up.

This was mentioned on another site, but when Tony went to Vegas did anyone notice all of the over the shoulder shots, like in the opening....possibly a new home for Tony?

That Meadow scene is like what happened to Dylan's girlfriend on 90210,where she drives Dylan's car as the mob attack's his car.

I found Chris' death very lackluster for such a major character.

Really? The more I think on it, the more I realize it was the perfect way for Christopher to go.

Plus, I read an interesting theory on another board. This is only a theory.

EDIT: I added tags just to be safe. Where I read it, it was presented as a theory, but apparently it is making rounds on the net now, so who knows?

Chris was wearing a Cleaver hat during his and Tony's meeting with Phil. Chris has never been known to wear hats. I read a theory that Chris was pinched after killing Dolan and considering his feelings about Tony in the previous episode, he flipped and the hat was a bug and now the Feds know all about the abestoes disposal scam and that will lead to Tony's downfall. It makes sense...Cleaver was about a mobster who was killed by his boss and came back from the grave for revenge. Christopher may do the very same thing. Also, there were several references to Caeser in the episode. Brutus of course betrayed Caeser, Chris may have very well done the same thing.

Interesting theory, huh?

i'm definately buying into the christopher rat theory .
i watched the final nine trailer last night on youtube and the only things we havent seen so far are tony , carmela , and meadow embracing in the hospital (supports aj theories) phil riding around at night , and christopher spotting someone in his rear view mirror ( probably a flashback of him getting picked up by the fbi )

What did everyone think of last nights episode?

Tony's actions against Coco were justified IMO....I don't have a daughter, but if I did I think I would go off on someone, not to that extent but you get the picture. LIke Tony said he would have been backed if he had killed him anyway. I really liked that scene though, it showed the old visceral Tony.

Did anyone else think Little Carmine was trying to set Tony up to be whacked? I ask because Phil made the "cooler heads prevailed" comment. He seemed pretty anxious to get Tony inside.

As for AJ, while im njot a real fan of him or Robert Iler's acting, I think he has really been good this season.

BTW Matt, you may want to tag that, i've read that on multiple sites...just saying

Also I read a Steven Van Zandt interview:
He says it ends in a bloodbath, and Sopranos movie would be impossible unless it was a prequel.

I feel the same way. Little Carmine is a manipulator. I think everything he said about not wanting to be the head of New York was bull. I think he is just letting two of his obstacles were he head of NYC (Tony and Phil) take care of each other and then he can come in and sweep up.

Really? The way I read it, it was presented as a theory, but I will definitely do so.

Definately! The whole scene with him and Carmine at Phils had me uneasy..It felt like a set up to me. It;s funny, because I actually like Little Carmine, mainly because of the things he says, like NYC and NJ having a Alteration instead of an Altercation:woot:

It may be a theory but,

It was brought up how back in season 3 I believe how that one guy Tony was working with had the hat with the bug in the top....also as you said Chris never wears a hat. Alot of people seem to think that Chris got busted the night he killed JT Dolan and worked with the FBI since.

Another thing I heard:

was not only was the hat bugged but all of the Cleaver stuff that he gave to everyone was bugged as well

Hadn't thought of that first thought. Makes sense to me--let the two of them duke it out and be the last one standing.

That's exactly how I was hoping it would end.

^Wouldn't have thought of that..would be cool if it turns out true.

What's up with the two week wait for all of HBO's shows next Sunday?

Their always off Memorial Day weekend...they have that indian movie, Bury My Heart at Wouned Knee playing.

Wow, Bobby's death was quite possibly the best filmed scene in the history of the show. Simply amazing.

On the same note, I was really disappointed by what they did with Sil. The scene of him getting shot just seemed underwhelming following Bobby's. It almost felt like an afterthought. Paulie said the doctors don't expect him to wake up, so I doubt we will see an official death or anything, which is sad for a character as great as Silvio. Then again, I think they want to leave the character open, just incase there is an off chance of a movie ever happening.

Or he ends up joining a rock n roll band...

Great scene with Bobby, I agree.

Wow. Great episode tonight. It's really hitting the fan now.

Next week is going to kick so much ass.

Damn good ep tonight. Really good

Can't wait for next week, but I gotta admit, I don't want the show to end :(

The may have been the best episode in the series. Sad to see Bobby go like that I always liked his character. Silvios death was underwhelming, but I wasn't a real fan of him, if that was Paulie then I would have been up in arms. Tony sitting in the house in the room with that gun...remind anyone of Tony Montana?

I really think its going to end like no one expects...I've heard many theories some good and some bad. I really don't want to see a bloodbath ending where everyone is wiped out. A movie is pretty much out of the question at this point, but I just would rather see Tony go out another way

With Bobby and Silvio died along with Christopher in two episodes earlier. My hope and dream for a big screen movie is now slim to none. I always knew that the series would be ending on something like this with Tony's crew being killed off. The two deaths in this episode was very shocking. Good that I have never ever read up on spoilers about this show unlike Lost, Heroes or 24.

RIP Bobby and Silvio. You served your boss well.

Finally!!! This is what I've been waiting for since last season!!! War baby!!!:D Damn it was sooooo good im watching it again. Its too bad there's only one more episode:(

I am very happy with the coming attractions for next weeks finale. I was kind of upset that Tony was playing the passive role and just waiting for something to go down. Next week is no more hiding, lets get this done with and whatever happens happens! That's the Tony I want out there. I hope Tony and Pauly either go out in a blaze of glory, or they wipe everybody out and rule with an iron fist. Tony Soprano, Boss of the entire northeast coast.

On a side note, think Uncle Junior has anything to do with anything? Just throwing it out there. Maybe he and Phil have some kind of Cosa Nostra thing and Juniors pissed took stepped over him? Who knows? I just know that Tony better not turn rat!
