The Sopranos Final Nine

I've got a question, were the Italian hitmen the stupidest people ever or was that guy a "body double" for Phil. That whole thing didn't make sense, did they not have the right information? I can't imagine that Tony's people would give them the wrong address, but that guy didn't seem to have any connection to Phil other than a passing resemblence.

Also, couldn't help but laugh at how pathetic AJ was, trying to make Bobby's death all about him. Wished his father wouldn't killed him right then.

Why'd Silvio leave his gun in the backseat? He knew New York was after Tony's crew, kept your gun handy.

It was good that there was some real plot movement, but some of the actions taken by the characters seemed incredibly dumb.

I sure hope a miracle happens for Sil, he's one of my favorites but then again so was Bobby :(

As I re-play this all in my head, I can't help but think that this episode was not that great. You've known for a good while now that trouble with NY is brewing and yet you are this unprepared? Shouldn't all of the NJ family be more on thier toes? As soon as Phil said get that piece of ***** off my lawn, Tony should have called a meeting at the Bing and let everyone know that things were about to jump off. I don't know maybe it was just me, but I would have thought a guy who was as paranoid as Tony is, would have a contingency plan way put into place for just such an occasion.

Honest mistake, the mofo looked just like phil, and the daughter was actually phil's housekeeper, who they thought phil was creeping wit.
Remember bobby missed the call to start breakin "old habits" and Rutines, like going to the ****in train store when war is brewing. *SMH*
But yeah they should have been strapped at all times.

What was Silvio doing reaching in the back seat for his gun, shouldn't it be on him or in the glove conpartment, and Bobby should of fired back since he was walking around after being shot.

Bobby's death I found to be okay, he didn't know what was going on, I wasn't complaining about that. Silvio obviously knew and should have had a gun on him, not in the back seat of the car.

I still can't understand the whole Phil mistake though. Was this guy at one of Phil's haunts and it was just an unfortunate coincidence for him? The whole Phil's housekeeper thing doesn't make sense because Tony's guys knew that Phil didn't mess around too much so why send them there to wait on Phil? Plus what an incredible coincidence that Phil's housekeeper's father looks so much like Phil.

That man was the father of Phil's Ukrainian mistress. That was the house of Phil's mistress. Phil was expected to be there. No one realized that her father, who resembled Phil lived with her.

Yeah, at this point AJ just seems to be milking his attempted suicide.

Well, thats why Patsi was there. To protect Sil. Therefore Sil set his gun in the boxes he was carrying.

Didn't Tony's guys say they didn't remember Phil having a mistress? Kinda sick that the chick would be messing around with someone who looked so much like her father.

Killing a made man in the mafia, yet alone declaring war on an entire family isn't something that is done lightly. Tony probably expected someone midlevel like Benny Fazio or Patsi (i.e. no one he cares about) to be whacked to prove a point and a temporary shut down of business between the two families until something could be worked out. Phil's measures were extreme, even by Mafia standards.

No, it was Johnny Sac who didn't have a mistress (and considering his wife, I wonder why the **** he didn't)

A reverse Oedipus complex? :cwink:

By the way, what does everyone think of Melfi? Is that the last we will see of her? If so, I gotta agree with Tony. She should be ashamed of herself as a doctor.

I thought the Bobby death scene and the Silvio/Patsi attack was bad choreography, the scenes just didn't look good. And Christopher should of been around as someone who gets hit as well.

I kind of think her character was only good for the first two seasons.

Your nuts. Bobby's was beautifully done.

When they were discussing the botched hit (before they knew it was botched) they were all confused about the girl that was caught in the crossfire, saying they didn't remember Phil screwed around much.

You must have misheard. They were aware Phil fooled around. Remember when they bombed Phil's business during the first part of Season 6? His mistress was with him then too.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on this. War has been on the cusp since Johnny Sack. There was always an underlying tension between the 2 families, but Tony could talk with Johnny and keep things amicable. When he got "pinched", and once Phil became the new Boss, Tony should have known war was imminent, especially with the whole Tony Blundetto situation. He should have been much better prepared, especially being as paranoid as he is with his own crew. As soon as Phil didn't want to have the sitdown with Little Carmine and Tony, Tony should have had a plan already in the works.

Bobby's death was incredibly well done. Didn't all of you squirm in your seats because you knew it was coming?

I think that's the last we'll see of Melfi unless Tony survives and he goes back at the end of the last episode.

Agreed, argueably the best shot death scene of the series, Tony Blundeto scene was shot well as well.

I hated seeing Sil go. I was hoping he would take out a few of those NY scumbags but I guess he was always better at being a brain than being muscle.

I'm really going to miss this show. :csad:

and Paulie better not get wacked. He's my favorite character.

What happen to all the Sopranos soldiers? Looks like they only have a couple?

hey, I hate to sound like a n00b but why do hitmen drop their guns at the crime scene after a hit?

The guns are clean or untraceable. Besides if you keep the gun and get caught, the police can match the slugs from the crime scene to there gun. I thought everyone knew this!
