To add to that and to the person who has only watched the first 3 episodes so far season 2 is a lot and I mean a lot better then season 1 and season 1 was already pretty good.

Season 2 has a handful of the the best episodes from the series.

Agree. My favorite episode is definitely the last. It is amazing how much you keep guessing, even when you know the history of the Goblin!

Dammit, I want Spectacular Spider-Man to be the framework for these new Sony/Marvel Spider-Man movies tied into the MCU!

my favorite moment so far.

Might start using "imperious moron" as a go-to insult

I think Season 1 is ok but I didn't like it as much, it took me a while to watch Season 2 just because S1 didn't left me asking for more. It was kinda repetitive and boring a lot of times. Season 2 on the other hand was fantastic in every possible level, the action and writing was SO MUCH BETTER! I really love it.

Btw I HATED Venom and espcially Eddie Brock, such a horribly written character. I don't understand how someone could like this Eddie and hate the one from Spider-Man 3 tbh

I love how there's even a point when they make you question that [BLACKOUT]Harry's mom could be the Goblin[/BLACKOUT] during the final moments. The whole mystery and reveal of the GG's identity is one aspect I felt improved on the comics.

TSSM is really the best adaptation of Spidey outside the books, for sure. It brought together several different iterations and blended them together seamlessly into one cohesive, coherent and contemporary tale. It's a real marvel. I don't think the movies should copy this show exactly but it does set up a great template from which to work from.

My personal favs from season 2 are:

Shear Strength
First Steps
Gangland

"Sorry, no. My fans expect a certain amount of quippage in every battle." My favorite line.

I love the change here as Ock goes from the humble and awkward Otto and manifests into the powerful and chaotic Octopus. A great moment indeed.

I dislike all of the symbiote villains. However at least here in TSSM, as well as SM3, we see a much better take on Venom over his portrayal in the comic.

I remember hanging out on the ToonZone boards while the show first aired, and by the end of season 1 even fans of the comics were convinced that Harry had been the Goblin at least some of the time.

It's always a tricky balance when a show is adapting a really cool mystery that was solved decades ago in the comics and is generally well-known to the viewers beforehand. ARROW, for instance, liked to intro characters who by their name seemed destined to wear a mask, and then put the mask on a different character (see Merlyn, Black Canary, Deathstroke but in reverse, etc.)

Generally SSM took it easy with most of its villains and reveals, but they way they unfolded the Osborn two-step is easily one of the show's high watermarks. :word:

i've been binge watching spectacular spiderman on youtube (my first time ever watching this cartoon)

How do you like it so far? Where are you up to now? I remember binge watching it before TASM2 came out and absolutely loved it.

With the great rep this show has, I'm surprised some of you are only seeing it now.

The Lizard fight in the subway actually has a lot of direct visual cues taken from ASM#45's fight between Spidey & the Lizard. A few years back I took some scans and posted them on Toonzone with shots from the episode and a few months later I heard an interview with Victor Cook and he mentioned being surprised it took that long for those to be spotted. :woot:

I gotta find that again. Hm.

i'm watching episode 13 right now. for the most part, I think it's really really good! the characters have been integrated into the story very well making the whole narrative very entertaining to follow.

It's hard to choose between the two shows. If TSSM wasn't cancelled then I would probably go with that easily.

I definitely like the voice actor for '94 better. Just coz that's the one I grew up with. I don't like how their venom rendition is overarching either. but since it is only 2 seasons long i'm gonna watch the whole thing.

I love how the story actually matters - like the events that unfold in each episode account for the story being told. altogether.

I don't usually watch cartoons anymore so I don't know of that many that do that.

I like the voice actor more for spectacular spider man but they are by far the top 2.

I had to watch season 2 on youtube has they changed the chanle it was on for season 2 and that was the only way for me to watch it. It was nice when I final got to watch it on tv rather then a small computer screen.

they weren't showing season 2 on WB? i'm watching episode 15 now

I have the whole episodes awesome show ever. Imaging if the show only happened now we could have had the kingpin and Daredevil visit at some point with Elektra, that would have being awesome.

16 episodes in and there haven't been any other superheroes showing up.

I don't remember what changle they showed season 2 on but season 1 was on the CW and season 2 was not and I didn't have the new changle so yeah had to watch it on youtube back then.

Yeah they couldn't use other characters outside of Spider-man's mythos due to legal constraints but if the show didn't exist then but existed now under Marvel with same crew it would have being very possible now. They couldn't even use the Kingpin that's why the used Tombstone instead.
