So now that Marvel and Sony are sharing Spider-Man. . . could we maybe get a continuation of TSSM ? The answer is probably no, but a guy can dream.

After the announcement with the film universe being shared there's no doubt the possibility for continuing TSSM in one form or another (I'd be excited about a continuation in comic book form), is much higher. I'd be ecstatic if that were to be announced as well.

We all would. Lol.

And hey, Greg Weisman would actually be available since he's no longer doing that Star Wars show.

Weisman, the rest of his staff, Cook included, as well as the voice talent have all expressed interest in returning to the show. It was a great experience for them to make and work to produce the series. In an article I posted a little while back Weisman made it known that he approaches execs from time to time and inquires about a return to making this show.

He's working on a new project, though, and one on a property he hasn't worked with before.

Also, I don't think this show is a priority to Sony and Marvel, unfortunately.

What if TSSM returns as an animated movie? Sony is only distributing and financing the live-action Spider-Man films so what if they make animated movies in the meantime?

I realized another big Raimi influence. The origin flashback scenes in the Intervention episode, apart from talking to Uncle Ben in the car/dropping Peter off at the library and then getting killed after, there's also the scene where Peter got bitten by the spider. It was in a demonstration of 15 genetically modified super spiders. They even have Gwen do MJ's lines where she spots one missing and says "There's only 14".

And yet another reason to love this show even more. It was done so damn well.

Um, yes, please. :woot:

I've said before, I'll take any kind of continuation of this show. As long as the original cast and crew returns, an animated film would be excellent. I would hope they keep the 2D drawings and not go computerized however TSSM getting the Pixar treatment would be something to behold.

Yeah, there's plenty of Raimi influence to be found in this show. Both Weisman and Cook were quick to state how much they enjoyed what Raimi did in the filmverse, minus SM3. Another scene that has some Raimi influence is the funeral at the end of Final Curtain.

I doubt they'll continue Spectacular Spider-man. If anything, we'll get another new Spider-man cartoon.

I think we would all officially lose our minds.

I couldn't be happier with what's developed in the last 15 hours or so, but that would be the cherry on top of an already amazing cake.

That's exactly what I was going to say!

Yet they still included Spider-Man 3 references in it for Sandman and the symbiote :shr:

I know, right! lol. It's funny but when Victor Cook was asked in an interview about the symbiote reference being similar to SM3, his response was, "No. I don't like SM3."

I'm gonna try to find the link.

Edit: Here's the link. I need to correct myself though--Cook says he doesn't care for the 3rd Raimi film x2 in the interview but it's when he's being asked about the Sandman reference, not the symbiote. I have seen an interview with Cook where they do ask him about the symbiote and its similarity to SM3 and his response was the same. I'm gonna try to find that one.

That doesn't say he didn't take any nods for Sandman from Spider-Man 3. They asked him did they do the 'Competition' episode to top him in Spider-Man 3 and he said no.

Yeah the references were still there for Sandman and for the other ones mentioned that come from SM3. Which is why I think it's funny--he obviously doesn't like SM3, as he's said it multiple times in a couple of interviews, yet those references/nods are definitely made. If he didn't want them in there he could have easily taken them out or refused to put them in the show.

I just got into this show and love it

Spectacular Spectacular Spider-Man

last watched the 3rd episode, The Lizard's introduction

A lot more mature than I expected.

Love that one. I like how they used camera angles and photography that mirrors a horror movie. Connors transformation was gruesome and the part where Billy confronts the Lizard trying to appeal to his father, the Lizard goes after him. Other shows would have made the 'monster' back off. Little things like that have TSSM standout. The show gets better the more you watch.

Not to give anything away, but many of the issues encountered in this show are quite mature. Only thing child-like about TSSM would be the character designs. But even that depends on who you ask.

To add to that and to the person who has only watched the first 3 episodes so far season 2 is a lot and I mean a lot better then season 1 and season 1 was already pretty good.
