As I said before, Peter being an every man comes from all the other aspects of his life: his financial difficulties, his relationship troubles, his guilty conscience, etc. etc.

Him being something of a genius (although he's not the smartest guy in the MU) doesn't detract from that, IMO. The relatability people share with Peter Parker comes from the things mentioned above and also the sense of escapism when he's Spider-Man because he becomes someone else.

Stark is hindering the financial troubles aspect of the character. Hopefully if Peter breaks free from him, he's not in the sequel

Maybe it's simply the way they're choosing to market the film, but looking at this Empire cover, I really hope they're not making out this Spider-Man to be "young and hip" and cool because he's 15 and still in high school:

I want the fact that he's still in high school and young to create a lot of problems for Peter, and seeing how he deals with them, like balancing school, letting friends down because he has to suddenly run off and be Spider-Man, dealing with an Aunt that gets worried because he comes home with bruises or disappears at times, not the fact that he gets to be hip and wear headphones.

I searched for Spider-Man wearing headphones in the comics and this is the only thing I could find, and even then he's using them to search for crime.

I really hope Holland has the chance to showcase himself as an actor, not because he gets to portray a young and 'hip' character, but a young man that carries a lot of weight on his shoulders and has a lot of responsibility.

I know I'm probably nitpicking about the headphones, but the image and vibe it gives off just doesn't sit with me.

I totally understand. I myself have a problem with what they've said about how this version of Peter deals with his responsibility. He's definitely too immature & kiddified & I don't like the fact that he doesn't understand the meaning of with great power comes great responsibility & instead wants to have fun.

Wasn't asm2 Spider-Man supposed to have beats in his suit or something? I remember hearing that he listened to music while he swung. It was an early concept

There's no reason he couldn't. But he could still wear a normal iPod under his suit with the wires out of the way and out of sight (or have wireless earphones/ earbuds). If he has to web swing a long way, despite the view, it could still get a bit monotonous. Listening to music would be like driving to music and could add to the experience.

Why couldn't we get this Spider-Man?
