The stand?

A lot of my friends are confused when it comes to simple things like changing tires, oil matinence, checking tire pressure, etc. . . simple things. Most are looking for the nearest Midas or Service Center.

Why are all your examples car related?

The thought of something like the Stand happening is too awful for words. Having life revert to a hunter-gatherer society would be just terrible. I'm far form being a country boy but I'm sure I could quickly pick up the essentials for hunting food. I have some disaster training through work which would also help. However, that isn't what would really worry me.
After the lives to which we have gotten accustomed, how boring would the world be without TV, the 'net, sports, theatres etc..Life being about nothing but survival day after day would get old in a hurry.

i never read the stand...but what happens to vegas? I live in vegas so im curious now.

Everyone down with the devil joined up in Las Vegas. While all the good guys went to Nebraska. Only to be told that they should head to Boulder, Colorado. :)

I never did finish watching the stand. Just put it up on my list via netflix!

oh dam.

It makes sense though ... Las Vegas is nicknamed Sin City ;)

I'd find the few Hype members that I like, Get as much supplies as we can get on a boat and find some nice island in the pacific and live out our lives. :) :)

i had a similer discussion with a friend of mine, at college, he was saying he would horde food and water and power supplys and never leave his home and he would be safe.

so i said to him you get all that and i'll get a 9mm and some ammo, so who will go hungry you or me. he had no answer

i told him i'm not a survivalist i'm a survivor

It was just a simple comparison between something that considered a 'suburban inconvenience' vs. some much more difficult ones.

I wasn't going to type a blueprint that highlighted each and every person's flaws(including my own). It didn't seem necessary to convey my point. I'm sure that the gist was understood.
