The story-arc of CYCLOPS (C-UNIVERSE)

Hi,

Sorry if I conied a new "graduation" for the MOVIE UNIVERSE; the "C" stays for "Cinematic".

In 'X-MEN' Cyclops was very strong, and also much more prominent as X-Man. I think we just happened to see what he would have been in the past years, prior to Wolverine's association to the roster.
He was a capable leader.

In 'X2' Cyclops did what he had to do, but still, it was a very crisis moment for the whole team. Fortunately, Nightcrawler, Iceman and Rogue joined the ranks to give us a much more strong line-up. Cyclops kept up the good work despite Jean's apparent demise.

In 'X-MEN 3: THE LAST STAND', Cyclops was no longer part of the team. He disappeared (killed? Unlikely). Basically, we experienced the fall of a man throughout the three movies.
Still, in 'THE LAST STAND' we had a sample of what lies behind the X-Man: a fragile personality, moved by love and emotional pain.

In 'X-MAN 4' I strongly hope Cyclops will surface in what will become (AND ALREADY IS) the greatest cinematic saga of all the times. He will reclaim his place in the roster.

This would mean to go the way of the Hero's Journey, but sadly the money givers give a ... about classic storytelling.

That one is a "James Marsden/Cyclops" thread... this is a look into the C-Universe counterpart. A positive look, I would add, against the criticism.

And "CYKE" isn't a C-UNIVERSE *canon* name either, LOL! I couldn't resist.

Even Marsden has said the reason for the cut away is to allow him to return. So FOX isn't the one wanting to kill him off. Damn writers. Anyway, I think his disappearance could launch a whole new trilogy delving into his backstory and introducing Sinister and Havok. And bringing the social issue of genetic engineering and research (stem cell, embryo, etc).

Hell they can even resurrect or clone Jean! So much is possible and you can make it really emotional AND intelligent too! No need to DUMB it down for us!

So I DO believe that if X4 is made, he will return. And have a much bigger role, because Logan will at best have only a cameo, and then off on his own franchise!

Thanks! Any suggestions about the "positive look" regarding everything Singer and Ratner did with the 'Cyclops' rendition?

I loved the lake scene so much... It was classic Cyclops. The optical blasts were so cool... and the desperation! James's acting was exceptional, I think.

GREAT! I don't like Jean being RESSURRECTED again for the sake of the fans... she's dead. But Cyclops deserves to be the leader he was in 'X-MEN' again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we fans should do a BIG petition instead of complaining and *****ing all the time... to bring Cyclops back from the dead and give him a much prominent role as he had in 'X-MEN'.

Of course, 'X-MEN 3: THE LAST STAND' is a gianteous smash-hit worldwide, so 'X-MEN 4' will see the light.
