Outrageous. There only needs to be one.

I will always cherish the terrible acting, over-the-top dialogue from Bison, terrible/hilarious one liners from Guile, terrible mischaracterizations, Dhalsim being a doctor as well as deciding to have hair in one scene and no hair in the next, Charlie becoming Blanka, outrageous and unnecessary dancing/celebration scenes, invisible Hadokens, bootleg Shoryukens followed by creepy stalker-like smiles, and corny/cheesy as hell ending scenes.

it's still fun to fantasize. if i had my way, the fights would be similar to the animated movie's fights except sort of in the style of Steven Chow's movies (Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle). i could see it working...

I would want Yimou Zhang as Director. Also the Story should be about a boy starting out in his first World Warrior Tournament, along with his friend/rival. Ryu would gets targeted by Shadaloo for a power which Ryu does not know he has the Satsui no Hadou. Bison wants this technique for his Psycho Power. The movie should have flashbacks of his training with Gouken, his first meeting with Ken. Ryu and Ken meets Chun Li, who works for Interpol, and is sent to find out Shadaloo's plans. Ryu, Ken and Chun Li should defeat Bison and Shadaloo. Also I would want Gouken to die at the End to set up a sequel where Ryu would search for Gouken's Murderer.

Dorky Fresh, I'm diggin your picks, man! Matthew Mcconaughey as Guile would depend on how the role is written, but I could see it working. I have to stand by Barry Pepper for Ken, though. Check out the flick "25th Hour" to see him beat the crap out of Edward Norton.
All right, we have some interesting faces. Now it's up to some PhotoShop genius to put them in the roles!

thanks snooch! i thought of Matt MacConaughy as Guile because i see Guile as an American pretty boy in the military and i can definitely see that in Matt (sans him being in the military). as for Barry Pepper...he could work but i think Chris Evans would make him more interesting, humorous. like Johnny Storm, Ken is somewhat of a hot-head even though he tries to act cool.

There is no way to tell the stories of all the SF characters coherently in one movie. You can only really tell two or three, otherwise it stops being one movie and becomes lots of little ones.

As the hero of Street Fighter is Ryu (usually), have him as the main character, and his rivalry with Ken a big part of the story; are they friends or enemies? The main bad guy would be Sagat for the first movie (with hints about M. Bison without showing him). Focus on these three characters.

From there you could do the sequel (Street Fighter II, naturally) and have M. Bison revealed. In the third movie, Akuma.

that's a pretty good way of looking at it. of course you could take the Sin City or Kung Fu Hustle route where lots of the supporting characters don't have fleshed out backstories but still remain interesting.
