I'm envisioning something that's a cross between the Superman suit and the Reed Richards suit from Fantastic Four: First Steps.

I really hope they make some tweaks to the costume. Mainly:

Make the material more form fitting and skin tight. The bagginess has to be reduced.
Tone down or remove all the unneeded lines and "piping" designs.

Doesn't need a drastic overhaul. But definitely needs some tweaks.

i had no problem w/ the suit at all. i think it was perfect in the film.

Keep the collar. It's the biggest visual identifier (along with the symbol of course) they clearly defines this as the DCU Superman. Things can be tweaked, but the core pieces need to remain the same. Otherwise, IMO, it's not HIM anymore. Keep the slightly looser "make him look huggable" fit, too.

Only thing I'd changes is getting rid of that sort of flap thing on the back of the collar, shortening the cape (it ruins his silhouette, especially when flying) and make the yellow S on the cape a touch bigger. And make the lines on the shoulders and wherever else more subtle (if not do away with them completely.

Lose the lines

Lose the material. Replace it with something better looking....though losing the lines may make it look better.

New boots.

New belt that looks $$$$$$$$$ and not like plastic
